"Why not?" I begged.

"Because your not ready yet." My mom said firmly, not looking up from her magazine from across the room.

"Please, mama!" I begged again.

"I'm sorry Natalie, but the answer is no. Maybe in the future, but not now baby." My mom said softly, stroking my long dark hair behind me.

I sigh in defeat and focus on the movie playing on the T.V. Currently it was 4:25 and I was at home with my moms watching the movie 'Thor: The Dark World'. I still could not get over the fact that I got my geeky-ness from my mother's. They both loved anything that involved Marvel and as for me, well I loved everything; except scary movies!

When I got home I had told my moms that I would be going over to Avery's for the project and while my mom, Stephanie, said I could go, my other mom Clarissa, dragged on about details. That involved questions of, Is he cute or hot? Is he single? Do you like him? Does he like you? How old is he? Is he in a gang?

My moms were completely different from each other, except being geeks, of coarse. My Mom, Stephanie works as a police officer. She has bright blond hair cut into a pixie cut and light grey eyes. She, unlike me, is tall and slender like a model, with broad shoulders. She likes sports; Which include mixed martial arts and NASCAR. You could say she wore the pants in the family; but that would a stereotype.

On the other hand there was my second mom, Clarissa. She works as an artist and even has her own shop in town called, 'The Frame'. She is known for her beautiful works of art all around. She is also known for being a interior designer. Clarissa looked the most like me in a way. She had slightly dark brown hair, but it's mostly bright and dark blue eyes. Like Stephanie, she was slender, but she was also short. My mom loves art and music and anything Stephanie doesn't.

The only weird part about my mom's was the fact the I barely looked like them. I have dark brown hair, that is mostly confused for black and brown eyes the color of coffee. To others, I was pretty, but to me I am just me. Nothing different. Nothing new.

When I was making a snack in the kitchen, my mom started talking about how she wanted to buy a new car, then I asked why I couldn't get a car, and from then on you pretty much guess what happened.

As the movie ended I was left agape. LOKI WAS STILL ALIVE!!! I wanted to scream and yell and set fire to everything, but all I did was scream into a pillow as my mom stroked my back with sympathy.

"I know, I know, that was......" She trails off, her voice soft as a feather, like always.

I look up from my pillow and glare at the T.V, now playing the credits. "The worst ending ever!" But before I could scream into the pillow again I caught a glimpse of the clock, and my heart nearly stopped.

5:25 p.m.

"Crap, I have to get going!" I say hurrying up the stairs, after jolting up from the couch.

"Wait!" Stephanie says, looking up from her magazine. "Get ready for what, baby?"

"The project remember? It's due in a week, but knowing how much work I have to do, I have to finish it soon." I say, stopping at the top of the stairs.

"And do you know where this boy lives, honey?" Clarissa chimed in.

"Yeah, he lives 4 blocks down." I say casually. Of coarse I only knew because Tyler had made Sure to tell me the first day of sophomore year to stay away from Avery's house.

"Alright, baby. Go get ready." My mom said.

I quickly stormed into my room and took off my PJ's which consisted of a oversized hulk t-shirt and Captain America pajama pants. I put on a simple black shirt with white jeans and my black and white Vans; and headed out the door since durring the movie my mom French braided my hair back.
