A gunshot could be heard, the mech that killed Aaron fell down. "What's happening?" Esther cried.
"Snipers! My boys! Yeah!" Henry cheered
Both of the mechs crashed to their bloody graves. The men inside, bleeding from the mouth and with wide open eyes, were shot in the head. A chopper flew to where we were and landed. "Good shot, uhh, Seargent!" Henry soluted.
"Damn, those crazy bastards don't give up do they?" The soldier said, "You guys look like you need a lift. Come on."
When we were up in the air, I wish I hadn't looked down at the broken cities, and wrecked towns. It was horrible. We ended up in what looked like a secure military facility. I had a good feeling about this place. There was food there, water, and guns, lots of guns. It also had a very high security system. "Sir, there was an explosion! There are Russians storming the western wing of the base!" The soldier ran off again.
"Get to the bunking facility, there is food there, and a place to sleep." The Seargent ordered.
"I can help!" Henry insisted.
"I am not allowed to have civilians fight."
Another soldier said, "We're all fighting for survival now." And threw an M4A1 to Henry.
"Damn, this is heavy. Let's go!" Henry charged.
I asked for a gun and they gave me one so I could cover Henry's back. I saw him unloading his machine gun on the enemies rushing in, he had to reload. I begin to shoot. Time slowed down, I saw one of my shots splatter a man's brains all over a wall. I dropped the gun and threw up. Henry rushed over, "You feelin' it son?" He laughed out loud, "We ain't finished yet!"
He continued shooting. Time spead up to normal again. I looked at the Russians coming in and thought about Esther. I can't allow them to get in, they will get to Henry, then Esther. I'd rather me die then them. Am I really about to do this? I'm such a moron. Oh my legs are taking me toward the fight. Crap, here we go.
I reloaded my gun and picked up another one from a dead US soldier. I reloaded his too. I started walking. I wasn't controlling myself anymore, it was the monster inside me. Three bad guys came around a corner in a small hallway leading out of the base. If I can make it out of the base, they won't be able to get in. I shot all three guys in the head. They died. I should have joined the military. Charging down the hall, I slid on my knees and took out five more soldiers. I quickly got up and ran to the outside of the base, leaving one assualt rifle behind. Henry caught up after ward. "We did it." I reassured him.
"Wow." He was breathing heavily, "I didn't know" still gulping oxygen, "you could do that, James."
There were sniper shot to be heard. And the bullets were hitting the ground near us. "Go, go now! Get out of here!" I shouted at Henry.
I followed behind him. We met up with Esther and two soldier that stayed back to keep her safe. We headed inside the base, a cold gust of air shivered my whole body. No one else felt it, so I took it as a sign. I put my gun strap over my shoulder. I put both arms up and forced Esther and Henry against the wall. The US soldiers didn't know what we were doing so they looked back. They were shot in the heads once each. They got in while we were fighting outside. It was a disraction
How could I let this happen? We ran back outside and found a Jeep still running with a dead soldier in the driver's seat. I drove us out of there feeling like a failure.

AdventureThis is my first shot at Wattpad. This is a story about an almost destroyed world in the future, and a resistance group grows and grows until they have the power to fix it. Although it is action packed, there is a love twist.
