Switching to Esther

"We should be safe here for the night. You get some rest, I'll keep watch." James claimed.

"We can take shifts-"

"No, you sleep."

"Americans! Come out with your hands up! We know you are in there! If you do not come out within ten seconds, we will storm the building! Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven!" The man was obviously speaking through a megaphone.

"James, we better go." I was nervous.

I could tell that James heard me say something but he was too deep in thought about how we were going to get out of there alive. Because we both knew if we went out there, they would kill us on the spot.

"Six! Five! Four!

"Please, say something. James I'm scared!"

"Three! Two!" The soldier continued.

"Follow me." He told me.

"One!"

I heard the front door slam open and footsteps running through out the house. We were hiding in the basement. Bad idea, I know. But how did they know we were in the house?

"Clear!" a soldier shouted.

The floorboards cried hysterically. We hid, James behind crates with a view of the stairs up to the door, and myself behind a shelf near the fernace. We heard the door open. Flashlights shined down the staircase. I looked at James with horrified eyes. Voices could be heard from the soldiers. They knew we were down there. All the other rooms had been cleared. It was only a matter of time before they found us. And killed us. I was bresthing heavily when I saw James with his eyes closed. That made me feel a shiver up my spine. "Get up!" A soldier yanked me up and held a gun to my head.

"James, help!" I cried.

There were four other soldiers other then the one holding me who apparently didn't know there were two of us because they were looking around furiously. James took advantage of that and sprang out from behind the crates and knocked a soldier out with a pressure point and took his gun. Then, he shot three of the four other soldiers that were there. After the forth soldier's body fell to the concrete floor, I saw James, standing there. Bloody. "I saw the way you took out those soldiers. You have skill. With pressure points, not weapons." He laughed. "Stupid Americans. Always trying to be the hero. Let me put this into perspective for you. If you even try to kill me, you will both be dead before you can fire again. If you happen to hit me, I have more soldiers and medics surrounding this house. Along with armored trucks, tanks, and hounds."

James stood there aiming the gun, shaking, crying. "Let us have our way with the girl, and maybe we will let you live"

He laughed again. James fired a round into the man's shoulder. He fell to the ground and James jumped on him and started beating him with his gun. His skull was bleeding and he was obviously dead, but James needed to let out his anger.

After a few more blows, James stopped, brrathing heavy and fell onto the cold floor.

Switching to James

I had just beaten a man to death, and it felt good. I had a headache afterward.  I was laying on my back with my feet on the man's body. I saw Esther to my right. I looked up and saw her face looking down on me. I sat up, and eventually stoop up, to the point where we were face to face. She started to open her mouth to say something. I put my finger over her mouth and smiled. "Don't say anything." I looked into her beautiful brown eyes, angelic, dirt covered skin, and she looked down at my lips. I supported her jaw with my right hand, and we kissed. I felt higher than a mountain in that moment. It had to have lasted at least ten seconds. She slowly parted her soft, addictive lips from mine, and looked me in my eyes. "I love you." She said.
