Xavier helped walk me to his car and asked if he could take me home. I declined and told him he already did so much for me. At least that’s how I wish it went. He walked with me to his car, and had me sit inside until my brother came. We just sat in silence, and it wasn’t awkward for the five minutes, but after that it got awkward.

“I was looking at the piece of paper; that’s why I didn’t catch you,” he said looking me into the eyes.

“Oh” that’s all I could say.

“I don’t think we should….” Before Xavier could finish his sentence, my brother tapped on the window. I smiled at my brother, but wish he waited a few more minutes.

“I’ll be taking her home” My brother said opening my door. Xavier got out and quickly walked to open the passenger’s side.

“So, what I was saying before was…” my brother interrupted Xavier again and we both looked at him with eyes that spoke, “really?”

“I won’t be able to pick you up after dance lessons.” My brother said.

“What was my dance lesson thing? And where is it even at?” I asked. I was hoping Xavier was listening, and maybe offered to pick me up.

“The salsa dancing, at the community center” My brother said looking at Xavier.

Xavier slammed the door, and walked to his car not even looking at us. My brother was trying with hold his smile, and so I ignored him. Uh….. Why did I have to have a brother? Once we got home I headed to the island to do homework. I knew my brother wanted to watch me so the best I could do for him. I did all my homework after two hours, and my brother was still checking on me so I try to stay in the kitchen. Plus I feared the stairs, and the pain that would come with it.

“Jonas, go get my paint, paint brushes, tarp, and a canvas.” I said getting up and walking outside. My brother came out with a tarp, all my paint, paint brushes, and my huge canvas. I laid out the tarp, and a chair. I got my water, and a flat surface. I smiled, and turned up my music to the point I couldn’t hear anything else. First all you saw was a black splat. Then the detailing started to come in. I couldn’t do it standing up. I laid it on the ground, and my painting started to turn out.

Xavier’s P.O.V

I couldn’t do it. I tried to tell her.  I couldn’t see her anymore; I started to get to close. She started to see the good, and my dark side. I was drying for hours all I could think about was getting away, but staying because of love for my dad. I got a call from my dad to come over to Ebony’s and I had to because he was going to be getting really drunk tonight. I headed over to her house, and was welcomed by her brother and my dad. They headed into the living room, and were watching TV. I saw Ebony painting just something that had black in it; I mean a lot of it. She then set it on the ground, and I was so confused.

She would stand up, and dance around like there was no pain in her legs. She was so focus on her painting she didn’t even know that she transferred to another world. A smile came on to my face, and I watched her paint for hours. It started getting dark; so I went into their garage and brought out lights and a latter. I got the lights up, and it seemed like she didn’t even know that I was even getting her light. I sat inside watching her paint. My dad gave me a bear, and I couldn’t even focus on the football game. The game was over, and the guys were passed out. I fell asleep watching her sit on the ground, and paint. I woke up, and looked outside. She was now coming in with her paint and brushes. I came up behind her. She turned around and slashes my shirt with blue paint.
