Jordan sat in front of Audriella with a bored look on his face. They were supposed to be talking out their differences. Neither of them felt like there were any. He was just mad because she was getting friendly with Jonas from the Raptors. Because of his anger, Jordan had gotten so drunk after his win that he'd forgotten that his family took the guest rooms. The faux couple was forced to share the same room for the weekend. In his drunken stupor, he brought another girl home while Audriella was asleep in his bed. Instead of kicking the girl out, Audriella left.

She was looking for an earlier flight when he walked in without a shirt. The natural curves of his abs highlighted his six pack without even flexing. She hated that he looked good to have had no sleep. He came to stand beside her, hoping she wasn't too upset. When he saw what she was doing, he held her computer hostage until they talked.

"Dri, say something." He demanded.

"Give my computer back, Jordan. I'm going home." Audriella spat.

"Not happening." He shook his head.

"Forget it, I'm just going to go." She snatched her purse and walked outside. Jordan yelled for her to come back.

She didn't listen, she walked down the street, ignoring his begging. The sun was starting to rise and there was a slight chill in the air. She wished she could teleport. Jordan chased after her, careful not to lose his shoes. He screwed up and needed to fix it before his family woke up. He caught a loose grip on her left hand, feeling nothing but smooth skin.

"Audriella! Audriella! So you're just going to leave without your rings?" He grabbed her arm, pulling her to him.

"Fuck those rings, they're just shiny lies." She growled, pulling away. She let her frustrations show for once in her young life. She hated that their mothers were forcing them into this.

"Just come back and enjoy your birthday, we'll end everything tomorrow if you want." He spoke softly. He honestly didn't know what else to do. He knew once Audriella had her mind made up, it was hard to change it.

"I'm going home." She spun out of his grasp, seeing her uber approach.

Jordan paced his living room floor. After kicking his hookup out, he started trying to come up with a lie believable enough. He wracked his brain for a reason as to why Audriella would allow him to bring another woman to the house. As far as they were concerned, Audriella was a sweet little virgin. The threesome thought failed just as fast as it came. He didn't even sleep with the random, she gave him head and left immediately after he made sure she swallowed. Audriella's rings weighed heavy on his fingers, this emptiness was uncomfortable.

Audriella paid extra for the quickest way out of California. She felt so disrespected by Jordan. She at least thought he would pretend to be all about her on her birthday. Even though they weren't a real couple, she did make sure to spoil him. He got whatever he wanted and she allowed him to do whatever.

Her mother always told her to keep her man happy. To do whatever it took to keep him. She had been groomed to please Jordan. It was clear that Jordan was not groomed to please Audriella. In all of the years that they had been together, he never did things with just her in mind. Even her engagement ring was based around him.

At this point, exile seemed like a bearable situation.

Glad to come home to an empty dorm room, Audriella swiftly removed Jordan's hoodie and her custom dyed purple Ugg boots that he got her. Ever since they were kids, he gave her shoes that were the same color as the team he was playing for. She had the same boots in Missouri and Tulsa colors.
