Growing up

Chapter 2

Shiro came down stairs to join everyone as they ate. Hunk asked for the salt, and Caran kindly passed it to him, but Lance accidentally pushed it over a little too hard and made the salt spill all over Hunk's food. Allura allowed Hunk to share her food and everyone ate happily.

Shiro finished his food and cleaned up Keith and Pidge's messes because they had finished too. Caran finished shortly after Shiro had and helped him prepare the backpack. The backpack was a bag that they would pack whenever the family went anywhere. Caran filled it with drinks and snacks, Shiro packed the First-Aid kit, and Allura packed extra clothes, diapers, bottles and formulas, wipes, and a few other essentials. And they were off.

Caran dropped off the family at the local science center and said he would pick them up at 12:00, which was when the event ended. The family signed in, got their tickets, and went inside. Allura pushed the stroller with Keith and Pidge in it, and Shiro held Hunk and Lance. There were a lot of families there, but not too many.

Each activity was done and not one remained. Allura checked the time, which read 11:02.

"Its 11:02. I guess we can sit down and eat before the movie."

"I guess so, but, where are we going to eat?" Shiro adjusted his hold on Hunk and Lance.

"Hmmmm... There!" Allura pointed to an open area where families were eating, and having their children play. It was the park dedicated to the science center.

Shiro agreed and they walked over. Caran packed sandwiches for the adults, and the kid's regular food. But, he packed a surprise for them. He packed a fruity candy that the kids enjoyed, and they didn't have it often. So when they could get it, they would do anything to get them. Allura laid out the blanket they got from the science center for visiting, and unpacked the food. Shiro set down the kids and gave them their food.

When they finished, the kids were sticky messes. Shiro and Allura changed the kids into the extra clothes Allura packed. The kids were soon all clean and in clean clothes. The mini-movie, which was 30 minutes long, was going to start soon so they quickly cleaned up and headed to the theater in the science center.

The movie finished and it was 11:55. The kids were beaten and struggled to stay awake. Caran pulled up and they went home. The kids were already in PJ's, so Shiro and Allura just put them in their cribs. Then, they went to the couch to just chill.

"So, how was the event?" Caran asked as he joined them.

"It was great! Thank you for signing us up uncle Caran!" Allura hugged her uncle.

"Yeah it was! Thanks Caran." Shiro patted him on the back.

"Oh it was nothing!" Caran asked about the kids, and wanted to know if they did anything silly.

"When we got to the 'Forces' station, the kids went crazy! There was a penny in a balloon and you had to spin it around inside. Lance said 'I'll get you out! Don't worry!'" Allura tried to imitate Lance's small-heroic voice. The other two laughed and they shared other silly moments they had.

Even though it was the afternoon, Shiro and Allura went to bed. Caran went to bed too, but he just couldn't believe those kids.
