Growing up

Chapter 4

I'm really, really sorry if the story seems rushed and if I'm slowly updating! I'm never too busy to write, so I'll try to write a new chapter everyday. They might be shorter, but I'll try! Thanks for reading! Enjoy!

Allura lay awake in bed. She just starred at the ceiling. She looked back on the day they all just had. Her kids are one year old now, and she watched them learn to tie and untie the amulets and how to take care of them. She loved her kids so much. Shiro joined her and starred at the ceiling.

"Its hard to believe..." Shiro laid on his back.

"I know..." Allura closed her eyes remembering the special day a year ago.

"Well, lets spend all the time we have with them and watch it all" Shiro gave Allura a kiss on the cheek and turned over to rest. "Night" Allura replied and closed her eyes to rest.

In the morning...

The next morning, the children awoke at the same time and welcomed each other to consciousness. Pidge gasped, and turned to carefully grab her lion headed box. She held it up so the others could see and their eyes widened. They grabbed their boxes and tied their amulets on, everyone checked each other's to see if it was secured.

There they stood, in the middle of the room. Pidge wanted to grab her new toys, but fell over because she didn't have her glasses. Hunk helped her up and walked her over to her little bed which had a small stand next to it. Each child had a small child-sized dresser next to their bed. Pidge grabbed her glasses and put them on. She opened the bottom drawer and pulled out the toys she had gotten the day before. Hunk followed Pidge to the center of the room and sat next to her as she placed her new toys in front of her. The others looked confused and then did the same.

Caran came in to check on them as he always did. Once he arrived, he saw the one-year-olds showing off their toys as if to present them to an audience. He didn't want to disturb the kids, so he leaned against the door. The door opened a little and creaked, but Caran was caught off guard and fell into the room. The little ones gasped and released yells of 'AAAAHH' and and screams of surprise.

This had awoken Shiro and Allura. They rushed into the room and turned on the light. Caran was flat on the floor with toys around him. He was face down. Hunk was looking at Caran with concern and wanted to go help him, but he couldn't let go of Pidge who had tucked herself into his arms so well she was no where to be seen. Keith had backed up to one of the beds in a defensive stands. As for Lance, he was way back in the corner half behind the dresser, and half under the bed. Caran groaned. (Luckily he didn't land on any toys...)

"What happened?" Shiro questioned as he looked at all his frightened children. Allura helped Caran stand as she asked if he knew what had just happened.

"Well, I came to check on the children as I always do. When I walked in, they were presenting their toys and I didn't want to disturb them, so I leaned against the door. The door opened a little and I fell." Caran gave a look a apology and sympathy to the still shocked children.

Allura made sure if Caran was okay and had Shiro help him to the kitchen to get patched up and get him to his room to rest. Allura turned to her little ones and went around the room to reassure them that they were fine. She first got to Hunk and gave him a hug. She found Pidge in the hug and cradled her to calm down. Keith was fine, but she had to get him to calm down out of his defensive state. He could cause quite the damage if anything else moved, but something did. Lance tried to untangle himself from his position, making noise as he did so and knocked something over. Keith was about to attack and do damage to something, anything, when Shiro walked passed with Caran and sat him down on the floor. He walked in quick and handled Keith. The others watched for a few seconds before returning to their business.

"Hunk? May you help me with Pidge please?" Allura slowly and carefully placed Pidge down. She was calmer now, but was still scared and Allura needed to help untangle Lance. Hunk nodded and walked Pidge over to her bed. Allura turned back to Lance, who was more tangled.

Everything was sorted out. Caran was in bed resting, Pidge was calmed to no longer being scared, Keith was handled and calm, Hunk was happy from helping, and Lance was untangled.

"Well this was quite a morning wasn't it?" Allura stretched and put her hands on her hips.
"Uhhm" Keith crossed his arms and nodded. Pidge nodded as we'll, and Hunk and Lance yawned, 'yeah'
Hunk walked to the bedroom door and looked to the left, where Caran's room is. He whimpered.
"Uncle Caran will be alright. Besides, it wasn't you fault." Shiro looked at all of them and motioned for Hunk to come help pick up the last of the toys.
"I think today will be a quiet day."

Shiro and Allura guided the kids downstairs and had them sit on the couch. Allura made breakfast and Shiro stayed with the kids as they watched TV. When Allura was done, they all ate and cleaned up the table. Allura turned to everyone and placed her hands on her hips.

"So, what should we do today?" she starred at the ceiling thinking. "Watch a movie maybe?"

"Alright. Kids? what do you think?" Shiro began to stare at the ceiling too, thinking. He heard a cough. Shiro turned back to the kids and realized it was just a sneeze. Then he said "Bless you."

Soon they were all starring at the ceiling thinking of what to do today. Then, out of pondering silence, Pidge gasped and raised her hand and waved it around trying to grab attention. The other children turned to Pidge and she explained her idea to them ever so quietly, and the adults didn't hear. Allura and Shiro heard a gasp, and an 'ooooh' and they turned around.

"Did you think of something?" Allura asked with sparkles in her eyes as the kids spread out from their secret meeting.

"Yeah!" the four shot their small fists in the air at the same time.

"What is it?" Allura sounded a little too desparate.

"Leths make a moovie..." Pidge whispered. Allura and Shiro lit up and told them it was a great idea.

"Alright! Lets make a movie!" Allura tried to be quiet for Caran and jumped a little.

Shiro suggested that they watch a movie for inspiration, but the kids had it covered. They grabbed the camera and the craft supplies and made different scenes. The day was spent crafting and they had a lunch break, but then got back to work. They were a sticky mess and cleaned up and saved the sets for tomorrow.                                                                                                           -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Caran had rested and felt better. He decided to get up and reassure the children about the accident earlier. Caran washed himself up and got ready for the day. It was 5:00 in the afternoon, but there were some things to be done, right? Once Caran arrived down stairs, he saw everyone in the kitchen, food was everywhere, and everyone froze.

"G-Good morn-Afternoon!" Allura stuttered out trying to not look awkward.

"Uuuh... You too." Caran answered as he walked over to the group and adjusted the kids into safer positions.

The group greeted him and he and the kids reassured each other about the accident earlier. They were preparing to watch a movie and you could clearly see the popcorn all over the table. Everything was set up and the movie began...
