Lilly

Pain.

Hot burning pain was all I felt, as He brought the whip down on my back. I cry out as He continuously hits the same bloody cut on my spine.

I hear him bend down. "Aww, Little Bird doesn't like that does she?" He coos in my ear. I feel his hot breath on my neck, it sends shivers down my spine (not the good kind). "Well to bad little bird, because no one is ever coming for you. No one even misses you." He growls in my ear. I whimper at his words. Maybe no one is coming for me, it has been a year I think.

He starts to kiss my neck, I know there is nothing I can do so I don't fight back. I've tried to fight back before, when he first took me, it just made things worse. I hear him unzip his pants; I close my eyes tightly and think of the song Mama taught me.

Lullaby, and good night, in the skies stars, are bright.

May the moon's silvery beams bring you sweet dreams.

Close your eyes now and rest, may these hours be blessed.

'Til the sky's bright with dawn when you wake with a yawn.

Lullaby, and good night, you are mother's delight.

I'll protect you from harm, and you'll wake in my arms.

Mama where are you? Why aren't you protecting me?

Sleepyhead, close your eyes, for I'm right beside you.

Guardian angels are near, so sleep without fear.

Mama, I don't feel you, Mama please, someone, angels above save me from this torture.

Lullaby, and good night, with roses bedight.

Lilies o'er head lay thee down in thy bed.

Lullaby, and good night, you are mother's delight.

I'll protect you from harm, and you'll wake in my arms.

Lullaby, and sleep tight, my darling sleeping.

On sheets white as cream, with a head full of dreams.

Sleepyhead, close your eyes, I'm right beside you.

Go to sleep, little one, think of sunny bright mornings.

Hush, darling one, sleep through the night,

I cry as he pounds into me. I close my eyes and all the pain goes away, as Mama lets me dream. I close my eyes tighter. Please give me a release, Mama your baby isn't strong enough for this cruel world. Please, please, please, god take me away.

Sleep through the night

Sleep through the night.

A blinding white light takes me to dreams, happy dreams finally, of Mama and Dana and all my family.

I can still feel the cold floor under my body. I feel the 'nurse' come and put ointment on my cuts and bandage them. "Can't have your body ruined, less money," He would say. I felt her skip over a scar running from my high-thigh to my hip bone.

His mark on me.

I struggle to open my eyes, I hear screams and shouts. I force my eyes open. What's happening?! I try to get up and reach the door but I'm chained to the wall, and my legs are too weak for me to be able to stand. I look around the small room I'm in (my home for the past year).

"This is the police!" someone yells from behind the door. They've found me!

"H-Help," I croak, my voice barely audible. My throat feels like sandpaper. "HELP!" I yell louder.

Suddenly the door comes crashing in, and a woman comes in. She has a police uniform on. She looks at me like she's seen a ghost."You're-You're the girl, Lilith Grey," her expression turns happy, "My god, I can't believe we found you!"

She hurries over to me and bends down to take off my chains. I used the time to inspect the police officer. She had red hair, and wrinkles from smiling. Once the chains are off, I instantly attempt to get up, keyword attempt. My legs are numb causing me to fall against the police officer.

"I-I can't walk," I look at her.

She inspects me a little, "You have to walk out of here on your own. Not just for yourself, but for your family. Do it, to show them you're going to be okay. Do it to prove to that b*stard that he didn't get to you, that you're still strong. You need to walk out of here on your own."

My vision becomes blurred by tears. I remove my weight from her and begin to take short, hesitant steps towards the broken down wooden door. I hear the police officer walking behind me.

As I walk down the hall I see other girls being taken out of rooms. All held by other police officers, I'm the only one walking on my own. A few of the girls catch sight of me and begin to walk on their own, ignoring the officers' protests. When we come near the door, I begin to speed walk, ready to leave this horrid place.

I walk outside, I feel the grass beneath my bare feet. I hear the birds chirping. "My god!" I laugh.

I'm free.

Finally.

Free.

Thank you so much for reading, I know this chapter was a little intense but I promise the following will be much more light-hearted. This is just to give some background on Lilly's past.
