"Everytime I see you, my world brightly light up. I think I found my own sun," smiles Connor. He grab me closer, as he hugs me from behind. "Despite the brutality of the past and what's currently going on, I can still say that I am happy. And that's because of you, Zoe. I don't care what we're up against, but I am sure that you will stay standing beside me... with me."
A broad smile formed on my face. Hearing his words makes my heart melt.
"Do you know what's ironic?" Connor asked. He looked at me, still smiling. "I work as a lifeguard at the Anderson's, but I'm the one who needs saving. You're the real lifeguard, Zoe. You're my lifeguard. You saved me from drowing in the dark. You pulled me into the surface. You made me see the light... the hope. You made me see everything that isn't in the deep, sorrowful water. Maybe if I didn't meet you, I drowned with sorrow and grudges. I'm glad you saved me from that. I wouldn't know what love is without you."
I faced him. "And I'm the happiest when I'm with you. Thank you, Connor. Thank you for everything you've done, and willing to do for me. Thank you because you care about me, despite the things my father caused you. I don't deserve a man like you, but I am thankful because you chose to stay with me and to love me."
Connor wrapped his hands around me. "Why are we being so chessy all of the sudden?" he teased.
"You started it!" I rolled my eyes, as I let go from his hug. "But seriously, I want you to remember that I will fight with you. I'll swim the ocean for you, and with you. I will not let go of your hand in this fight."
"I love you."
"I love you."

The sun came down, and the moon takes over. Connor made a bonfire for us. Night likes this makes our problem disappear for a while. I couldn't wish for more.
In this life, all I need is Connor. We can stay here forever. We can live here, where there is no chaos. We can start the day together. He would make me breakfast while I set up the table. After breakfast, we'll clean up the house. Then we would take a walk by the beach, holding each other hands. When it's time for lunch, I would help Connor in the kitchen as he slowly teaches me how to cook. We'd talk for hours. Watch movies. Do little adventures every day. We'd make new memories. And when the moon goes up, we'll end the day beside each other. That's all I want for a perfect life.
"You alright?" he asked.
I nodded, smiling. "Yeah. I'm fine."
"Are you sure? What are you thinking?"
"A life with you," I answered. Connor moved closer. I slowly leaned my head to his chest, as we cuddle under the stars. "We may not be in a good situation but for me, this is a perfect life. As long as you're in it, life is perfect."
"Hm. I guess we should start talking about starting our own family then. How many kids do you want?" he asked, while laughing.
I chuckled. "Are you serious?"
"You're already thinking of a life for us, so yes. How many kids do you want?" he asked again. "Because I want many kids. I want the house to be filled with kids. I wanna wake up every morning with you and our kids beside me. We'll take them down to the beach, and we'll teach them how to swim. Well.. I wanna have many boys so I could teach them how to play beach volleyball or even football. And you and our girls, will be our cheerleaders. So I was thinking, we can have 5 kids or more. What do you think? Do you agree?"
"Will we be able to handle that? Isn't 5 too many?" I chuckled.
"5 is only the minimun." Connor laughed. "The more the merrier, and the happier life gets."
"Okay. That's true. I guess we're having 5 children or more," I giggled.
"But for now, it's just the two of us. And when this is over, we'll start by making our lives better before we can start a family. We'll both finish our schooling. We'll find a stable job. And when I'm stable enough, I will marry you. We will get married with our loved ones. And when we're both stable to have our own family, we'll have our kids. Okay?"
"Okay."
"I can't wait to be with you forever."
"Me too."
