I made it into class 30 minutes late. I sat in my desk with no problem as the teachers back was turned. I looked to the desk next to me. De'Quan was sitting, scribbling notes down as the teacher lectured and wrote on the board.
I saw a note pushed on my desk by who I assumed was De'Quan. I opened it slowly. "I'll be waiting on the school bench out front 6th, 7th, and 8th." I looked over, but he was already back to writing notes. I slid the note into my pocket and continued to use my phone.
The first period bell rang and all the students filed out. I made my way into the hallway. I felt someone knock into. I looked and saw Chasity smirking. I slowly walk over to her and her friends. "What the fuck Barbie?" I ask angrily.
"Whoops." She said with her perfectly white smile.
I shove her into the lockers behind them. "Whoops." I mimic her and walk away.
I go into the gym and find all my friends sitting in the bleachers. I sit with them when Mr. Ross starts talking.
"Today we will be learning self-defense and how to properly punch. Everyone needs a partner and must come to the middle of the gym floor." He says.
I give a knowing look to Scar. He's the only one in the group who can handle my punches with hand mats. We walk down to the gym and wait for instructions.
"I will show you some basic counters and defensive moves. Can I get a volunteer?" He asks looking around.
I raise my hand as walk to the front of the group with a smirk. I knew all the moves and more than he knew.
"Do you know any defensive move?" The curiosity in his voice shining through.
I simply nod.
"Would you like to show us?" His voice has a hint of surprise. I just shrug and stand facing away from him.
He places his hand on my shoulder. I grab his hand, twisting it as I turn around. As he tries to untwist his hand, I swing my leg around to the back of his knee. His knee gives out and he falls to the ground. "Then your run-away ladies because you won't be strong enough to hold him down for long." I say with a smirk. I walk through the crowd of people with their mouths hanging open. I high five all my friends and turn back to face the teacher.
The rest of the day until lunch goes by quickly. When I get to the cafeteria I search for my group. When I find them I walk up to them. "Guys, I'm going to go eat and then go home. I have a project due in a week or two that I got to work on with my partner." I say.
Everyone nods and says their goodbyes. I walk out to the front of the building. De'Quan is sitting on the bench with headphones in doing work. I tap his shoulder and he looks up.
"Come on. Let's go get lunch." I say loudly so he'll hear me over his music.
He nods and packs up all his stuff. I walk over to my motorcycle and take out the spare helmet from under the seat. When I try to hand it to him he shakes his head.
"Come on. I don't have my car today. I'll even drive slower than usual." I say persuading him to ride. He takes the helmet and puts it on. I climb on and motion for him to get on the back. He gets on carefully. I grab his arms and wrap them around my waste.
As I pull out of school I can feel his head press into my back. I laugh and keep going. Everyone at school assumes that because I cuss people out I'm a mean person. I do, but only if they get on my bad side. I'm very nice to people who are nice to me. I don't tolerate bullying or degrading in anyway.
