As we walked out of the building, I wiped the stupid tears off of my face. Stupid jerk. Stupid me. This is the second time RJ had made me cry. Once when he left without warning to New York, and now.

Krispy and Derrel were going to call Nay and DeLante and I sat on the stoop, waiting. I saw RJ walk out of the East Wing angrily with his hands tucked in his pockets. He turned to the left corner without looking back.

DeLante tried to comfort me by telling me some jokes. He pulled out his iPhone and went opened a Safari browser. "I'm find you some ghet-toe jokes," he said smiling as he looked for a website. I sighed and leaned my head on his shoulder. His face was red as he laughed out, "You're gonna like this one."

"I hope so," I mumbled sadly.

"Okay...'You mama's so ghetto, she washes her paper plates,'" he smiled at me hopefully.

I stared back blankly. "That's not funny, Lante. That was lame."

"Fine I'll use my 'Yo Mama' app," he said, screwing up his face in concentration. "Okay...Yo Mama's-not yo mama-" he smiled at me cheesily. "Anyway, yo mama's so stupid it took her two hours to watch 60 minutes," he looked at me hopefully again.

I smiled briefly, that was pretty funny.

"She's so stupid she put on her glasses to watch 20/20," he smiled and turned to me.

I giggled and mumbled, "Wow."

"I saw her jumping up and down, asked what she was doing, and she said she drank a bottle of medicine and forget to shake it," he said through laughter.

I laughed out at that one.

"She got locked in a mattress store and slept on the floor....She runs around the bed all night trying to catch some sleep...It took her a week to get rid of a 24hr virus...She tried to open up a daylight savings account...She thought mood swings was a new at Disneyland." DeLante would look at me at intervals to see me smiling and laughing.

"She's so fat-" I cut him off.

"Thanks Lante," I said, smiling and leaning my head on his shoulder. "You always make me feel better."

"No problem," he said, leaning his head back on mine. "That's what I'm here for."

"WHAT THE HELL YOU JUST SAY TO ME?!" I heard someone shout from behind. I turned around to see Nay busting out the West Wing door. "What you mean 'torn down'?"

"Nay," I said softly. I stood up and said, "Don't worry, that's not what they meant." I gave Derrel, who had come out of the building first, a scolding look. He stared back at me blankly.

"What am I supposed to do? If Mom and Dad find out....Mom's having a baby, she don't deserve this right now!" she looked near tears.

DeLante stood and walked up to her. "It's okay, Nay...Don't cry.." He gently hugged her and I saw her eyes light up momentarily.

For some reason, a surge of anger rushed up me and I turned to Derrel. "Where's Krispy?"

Derrel stared at me for a while before he said, "He left after we told Nay...I don't know where he went." He walked off across the street, tucking his hands into his pockets.

I sighed and turned the corner onto James Street. Krispy's dad's grocery store was just on the next street. I stepped into the QuikMart and immediately Krispy at the counter. He had changed into a plain white tee and was sporting a black QuikMart apron. He looked so fine I thought I would pass out.
