I was at home sitting on my bed when I got a call. I looked at it and saw it was Derrel. I frowned. "It's one o'clock, who the hell could possibly be calling your ass?" Acacia mumbled angrily. She looked down at me and frowned. "GO TO SLEEP HEIFER!"
"Shut up and fix your hair," I said, going into the living and out to the balcony. I closed the screen door and answered. "Hello?" I said into the phone.
"Hey," I heard Derrel say.
"Hi," I said back awkwardly. The last time Derrel had called me was when I got my iPhone. And that was a test to see if the phone worked in the parking garage.
There was an awkward pause. "Well....I ain't got that many minutes left sooo..."
"My bad. I just wanted to ask you somethin'," he said quickly. He didn't sound like himself.
"And what's that?" I said, tapping my foot and rubbing my arm with my free hand.
"You know how I don't let ya'll into my apartment, right?" he said slowly.
"Yeah," I said, suddenly perking up.
"Well that's because....Anyways, the point is...I want you guys to come over tomorrow," he said finally.
"Derrel, I'll be there, and so will everybody," I said.
"Oh! Seriously...Thanks," he said, recovering himself.
"But next time call me in the day like everybody else," I said, yawning. I laughed.
He laughed and said, "Thanks, Kira. Good-night."
"Good-night, Derrel," I said, before hanging up.
I walked back into the living room, seeing that dad had fallen asleep on the couch after he had come back from work. I walked into his room and pulled out a blanket from the storage cabinet. I came back and put it over him, removing his glasses gently. I put them on the desk, turned off the light and crept back into my room.

3:30 AM.
THUD! THUD!! THUD!!!
I heard something from downstairs and shot up. I grabbed my flat iron from the dresser and crept by the door. I walked slowly down the hallway and into the kitchen where the noise had come from. I hid by the fridge as I heard a grumble and glass being stepped on.
"FREEZE SUCKA BIATCH!" I shouted before jumping out from behind the fridge and aiming.
I heard a familiar voice mumble, "Oh shit..." before throwing the flat iron.
"RJ?!" I shouted out. It hit him in the stomach.
"Kira!" he gasped out. "What the fuck?!"
"Sorry," I said, coming over to RJ, who was keeled over. "Yo ass shouldn't be creepin around a nigga's house at three AM!" I patted his head and he stood up.
"I know, I know. I had to see you, though," RJ said, grabbing my hands and kissing me.
I pushed him back. "Now what the hell was that for?"
"I need to ask you something," he said. He smiled at me brightly.
"What? I'm not gonna marry you, so don't ask," I said, crossing my arms.
