I looked up at RJ. Man had he aged well! He was finer than I could have ever imagined, even when I thought about what he would look like now. I sighed and rested my head on his shoulder. "How'd you like New York?"
"It was aight...But it wasn't that great without you," he said, smiling at me with his eyes.
"Oh whatever. You still the player you was three years ago," I said, rolling my eyes. "Now help me with these groceries, I-." I was interrupted by the door slamming open.
DeLante rushed in with an extra large fountain drink in his hand. He sucked on the red straw and took a deep breath. "Girl, you'll never believe what I just found out! RJ is-"
"Ricardo. I know," I said, half laughing.
"What the hell?! How did you-? I just found....Dang," he mumbled, sitting on the couch angrily.
"Sup Lante," RJ said, grinning broadly.
"Dang, RJ, what it is, what it is?" DeLante asked, grabbing his hand in the "man" shake.
"It's been a hella long time, man...." RJ paused awkwardly.
DeLante nodded his head slowly. "Oswardddddd...." he said, meaning "Awkward".
"Osward indeed," RJ joked back.
They burst out with laughter. "It's good to have you back man," DeLante said. "So what was New York like? Any honeys?"
"Ch-yea son, they were everywhere!" RJ laughed out.
Delante started, "It's like, honey over here."
"Honey over there," RJ continued.
"Honeys EVERYWHERRRR," RJ and DeLante said together.
I laughed along, ignoring their womanizing ways.
At that moment, the house phone rang. I picked it up and said, "Hello?"
"Hey, it's Kripsy," a sleepy voice spoke into the phone.
"Hey Krispy! Come over here right now! Got a surprise for you," I said excitedly. I hung up with a giggle.
"Who was that?" RJ asked as I put away a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese.
"They'll be over in a few minutes," I said, smiling broadly.
"Who?" RJ asked suspiciously. He pushed the iPod DeLante was showing him away.
"Fine," DeLante mumbled. "'Then I'll miss my flight, and I'll be back right at it, by the end of da night...Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky...'" DeLante sung.
"Just a friend," I mumbled, wondering why he was getting so defensive.
"'Oh baby yooooouuuu...Got what I need...But you say I'm just a friend, but you say I'm JUST A FRIEND," DeLante joked.
"Shut up," RJ said, pushing him back with a laugh. "I'ma be right back," RJ said, standing up. "I gotta go take a piss."
"Thanks for the information," I said, cringing disgustedly.
