Chapter 11

Chiara, Lucia, and Arken waved goodbye to the others. They had decided it was best for Pamela to take Beyonce, Luis, and Mariana back home.

"Ok guys, what now?" asked Chiara.

"Well, we have to find a way onto the ship." said Lucia. "I just don't know how." Arken smiled.

"I think I know who can help us."

After walking for the whole day, they arrived to a small town. More like a gated community. It was completely trashed. Chiara walked over to a sign covered by a tarp and removed it. The sign read 'the Gates'.

"What is this place?" Asked Chiara.

"It used to be a group of homes, now it's just a camp." said Arken. They continued to walk until they got to a garage with a small hole in the corner, but big enough for a person to fit through. Arken nodded for them to go in, and Chiara crawled in after Lucia.

"Hello? Anyone home?" yelled Chiara. Suddenly, a shot rang above their ears.

"Who's there?" yelled a voice.

"Lex? Lex it's me! Arken!" A young blonde girl came out from behind a battered couch.

"Oh. Well. Hey!" She put her gun down. "How you doing?"

Arken smiled. "Uh, we're good, yeah. We actually need a favor."

"Really? Well?"

"We need your Telporta."

"Her what?" asked Lucia.

"My Teleporta. First edition. Kind of used, but it should work. Anything else?"

"You aren't gonna ask us what we're using it for?" asked Chiara.

"Nope. Don't ask questions, don't get killed. That's how it works, kid." She patted Chiara on the shoulder.

"Um, we're the same age, Lex." said Chiara. Lex just winked. Lucia saw a weird wristband lying on the ground, and she picked it up.

"What's this?"

"Oh, uh, that's a used TimeFly. I think it's broken, but feel free to take it. I've got a ton."

"What's a-" Just as Lucia was going to ask Lex about the weird wristband, a huge explosion was heard outside. Lex picked up her gun.

"Go! Get out of here!" They ran outside to see the strange mechanical spider towering above the broken community. Lex threw a grenade at it.

"Run!" she yelled at them. Lucia, Chiara, and Arken ran out of the community. Just as they got out of the gates, they heard an explosion, knocking them to the ground. Arken turned around and saw the entire town going up in flames.

"Lex!" He tried running back in, but Lucia stopped him.

"It's too late. Shes's dead."
