I'm Fine

10th August, 2017

There is a soft tapping on my window and I turn over in my sleep, slightly annoyed by the taps. I open my eyes slowly and squint them at the bright sunlight cascading in. Looking up at the window, I'm confused to see that it's empty.

"Ronnie?" I hear him call. I sit up immediately, still groggy, but alert none the same. I start to recall the previous night's events and I remember meeting Jayce.

Jayce?

Isn't he dead?!

Did that really happen after all? I met Alyssa's mother — who turns out is dating my father! — and I met Jayce...

So I hadn't dreamt it?

More tapping on the window makes me turn and it sinks in. I didn't dream it after all. It's real. I let him into my room and he smiles at me.

"Aren't you a ghost?" I raise my eyebrows.

"Yes? So?" He raises his back at me.

"Why couldn't you just float through my window or wall?" I ask.

"Hollywood." Jayce rolls his eyes. "Ronnie, things are actually a lot more different than we thought. We can't walk through walls, and I can do a lot more stuff than some of those ghosts in movies."

"Did it..." I start slowly. "Did it hurt to die?"

There's silence between us for the longest time.

"I can't really remember. I don't feel anything anymore. I can't touch things, I can't..." his face fell. "But that's not why I'm here." He shook his head wildly.

"Oh? Why are you here?"

"I've been hunting out Anna and the weird old nun-witch lady." Jayce begins to explain.

"Nun-witch?" I'm confused.

"Oh...you were in the hospital. You must have missed it. The first few weeks after I died, I wasn't really able to leave Alyssa's house. One night, Alyssa and Allen came back, they found...um," Jayce shifted himself on my bed uncomfortably as his hand flew to the back of his neck. "Their dad...dead inside the closet. So there's this nun that Alyssa met a while ago and turns out, she's the one behind everything. That weird email we got with the ritual? That was her. The demons? Also her."

"So we have to take her out as well?"

"Of course? She helped murder Alyssa and Kat, didn't she?" Jayce sighs. "I want to give them the justice they deserve. They've framed Ivana."

"The really indie Wiccan?!" I breathe.

"Yeah. She's locked up for murdering Alyssa and Allen when all she did was help them fight off Anna and nun-witch."

"Oh my god...This is deeper than I thought..."

"You're only at the top even now, love."

OH my god guys! So most of you might not know but *shameless promoting* I write a book called Dangerous Woman and last night, I was pretty stressed after all the studying so I thought I'd make myself a trailer and guess what!

It's on YouTube. I've never made a trailer for anything before, so it's pretty amateur but I've linked it on the latest chapter I posted of Dangerous Woman. So it would really mean a lot if you guys checked it out and let me know what you think.

And yes, while all the action and big reveals were happening in Covenant and Don't Tap!, poor Ronnie was stuck in the hospital. But at least now we know what happened to Jayce after he died.

Of course, that's not all there is to it, so keep reading to know what else is hiding under Jayce's dark past (after death, of course).

So, how do you guys feel about Jayce now, by the way? Still hate him like you used to in the first book? Or is he doing a good job at warming up to you now?
