My late grandmother who has passed away,

Gave me inspiration to write poetry today.

Vera Grace was my grandmother’s name,

We both got on so well together, we were both the same.

I twisted her round my little finger, I got everything I desired.

My Nanna was my role model, I was very much inspired.

Being the eldest of the grandchildren, I was spoilt through and through,

Although she had four grandchildren, each was treated the same,

All the grandchildren’s photographs all placed in a frame.

My grandfather George Albert was a kind and gentle man,

I loved my granddad to pieces, I was his greatest fan.

My nickname was Tupenny and Alice in wonderland,

I had long blonde hair which I wore in a alice band.

Okey Pokey was my granddads name for an ice cream,

I was his princess and was treated like a queen.

I miss them both with all my heart,

But I know they are not far apart.

Maybe we will meet in heaven one day,

With fingers crossed until that day, I will sit and hope and kneel and pray.
