He stumbled into faith and thought, God this is all there is
At the end of the fight, Goku led the group into what was once your room. They all looked in horror as your bloody body lay unconscious on the floor with only a note to understand what had happened. Goku hesitantly picked the note up and began to read it silently. Everyone looked on him with concerned expressions as tears began to form in his eyes. He wasn't sure what to do at this point. A senzu bean wouldn't do much good as you had already lost a lot of blood. He did something sensible and used instant transmission to get you to the hospital.
The pictures in his mind arose, and began to breathe
He showed up with you in the emergency room with tears streaming down his face. The staff saw your condition and frantically ran to Goku. They kept asking him what had happened to you, but he was too hysterical to spit anything out. The only thing he could spit out was "You have to save her, please."
And all the gods in all the worlds began colliding on a backdrop of blue
Doctors came rushing out, having a stretcher with some vital fluids. As they took you away, Goku clutched the note to his chest, sobbing loud enough for half of the hospital to hear.
Blue lips, blue veins
All he could do was hope that you would make it out alive. In spite of your note, he completely blamed himself. He let Cell take you away so easily, he let his guard down.
He took a step but then felt tired, he said I'll rest a little while
If only he had grabbed you from Bulma, then none of this would have ever happened. He couldn't bear the thought of losing you.
But when he tried to walk again, he wasn't a child
Soon enough, his "save her"s turned into apologies. He thought he had saved you from this already. He thought nothing like that would ever happen again, but how wrong he was. Even if you came out okay, he wouldn't be able to forgive himself for letting his guard down so easily. He thought it was Josh, and he knew he could outrun Josh.
And all the people hurried past, real fast and no one ever smiled
After what felt like hours, but was only minutes, the gang showed up to find Goku crying hysterically. Krillin and Bulma were the first to try to comfort Goku, but he was still too hysterical to realize what was happening. Seeing him like this made everyone think that you were dead, but they still didn't want to believe that. Although you had never realized it, they all cared about you, even Piccolo.
Blue lips, blue veins, blue, the color of our planet from far far away
All of them thought about you at that very moment. They all wished that they could have saved you. They wished that they really could have made you believe that they cared about you.
He stumbled into faith and thought, God this is all there is
While they were all sitting there in shock, Goku finally decided to try to fill them in on what was happening. He slowly handed the note to Bulma. She read it and slowly brought her hand over her mouth as tears started to fill her eyes.
The pictures in his mind arose, and began to breathe
Krillin put a reassuring hand on Goku's shoulder. He had never been through anything like this before, so couldn't even imagine what was going through Goku's mind. All he could make out from him was "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry."
And no one saw and no one heard, they just followed the lead
Up to this point, Goku had lived a perfectly happy life. But when his own friend killed you, everything started to go downhill. If that hadn't happened, he would be okay right now. He would know that he could get you back one way or another.
The pictures in his mind arose, and began to breed
Goku had never gone through this heavy of a loss from what he could immediately remember. He had really grown attached to you. He had promised himself that he would protect you, and he had failed. How could he fail?
They started off beneath the knowledge tree, then they chopped it down to make white picket fences
All of them were filled with regret. Not even that they couldn't help you, but that there was so much that they didn't say to you that they should have. They wished that they could've told you how much they appreciated you.
They marched along the railroad tracks, and smiled real wide for the camera lenses
If you really were gone, Goku would never recover. Everyone had seen him get emotional before, but this was something else. You had become a basic need for him.
They made it past the enemy lines, just to become enslaved in the assembly lines
Everyone just wanted to tell Goku that none of this was his fault, but they just couldn't find the right way to say it. They knew that no matter how hard they tried, he would never believe them. He wasn't going to forgive himself.
Blue lips, blue veins, blue, the color of the planet from far far away
An hour had passed, and they still had no idea if you were alive or not. They just wanted to know so that they could manage their emotions. Everyone who was crying had finally stopped, except for Goku. He still had tears pouring out of his eyes.
Blue, the most human color
At long last, someone came out. It was a doctor, and he had a full coating of blood on his uniform. Goku's tears began to fall faster.
Blue lips, blue veins, blue, the color of the planet from far far away
"She's gonna make it," the doctor said. Goku instantly dropped to his knees and cried tears of joy and relief. He didn't kill you. He had never been that afraid before. Sadly, nobody was allowed to see you yet, but they were relieved that you were going to pull through.
