Sierra's POV
Turning 13 was not a big deal to me. My mom on the other hand thought it was the biggest of deals. She's setting up the surprise party in the back yard. Too bad it won't surprise me. She's been planning it this whole month. If I were her I wouldn't have asked me what kind of party would I like to have or how many people she should invite.
But, my mom didn't have to do this and I'm glad that she went through the trouble of planning a party for me. I love her for that. So I decided to put on a fake happy smile and enjoy the party. Moon was gonna be here so that was the highlight of everything really.
Puberty was not sparing me either.
I had large pimples on my forehead and upper cheeks, and I noticed that my boobs were rounder today than usual. They itched like crazy. I made a mental note to put itch cream on them before the party began. I wouldn't want people looking at me scratching my boobs.
That would be inappropriate.
Then again it would be pretty funny. I laugh at the thought as I put on my white and pink flower dress and matching white baby doll flats. I kept my curly hair down because I didn't feel like dealing with it. To finish my look I put a pink headband on my head and I was ready to go.
The itch cream I thought to myself. I ran to my bathroom and put a little in my hands and began to rub it all over my little boobs.
Puberty sucks.
"What are you doing?" I hear moon's voice behind me. Quickly I took my hand out of my training bra and put the itch cream on the bathroom counter quickly. I turned to look at my best friend. He looks like he's holding back a good laugh. "I was putting itch cream on my boobs" I tell him rolling my eyes. I washed my hands quickly then dried them off.
He bursted out laughing, his blue/gold eyes shining in amusement. " shut up moon puberty is not funny " I say plopping down on the edge of my bed. He sobers up a little and shakes his head as he sit next to me. His eyes were still laughing but he didn't let it escape his mouth.
"Okay, I'm sorry" he says poking the dimple in my chin. As always I giggled as his warm finger touched it. He smiled at me his eyes revealed that he had something to give me. Being best friends we learned to communicate with body language rather than speaking.
"What do you have to give me? " I asked pulling his nose. He took my hand from his nose and kissed the back of it softly, his lips are warm and cool all together, I try not to blush . He does this to tell me he missed me, because he's been gone for a week on a family trip in Chicago. He pulls out a black rectangular box from his pocket . On the front of it says 'for my sun, happy birthday, I love you.'
My heart began to thump excitedly in my chest. A blush takes over my face as I open the box. Inside was a necklace. The pendant on the necklace was a golden sun and the rays were jeweled with tiny crystals. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
I didn't realize I was crying until I felt tears running down my neck. I looked at my best friend. He had so much love in his eyes and so did I. "This is beautiful moon. I love it. I love you!" I trapped him in a bone crushing hug. I closed my eyes as I inhaled his scent. He always smelled like cookies.
I sobbed quietly as he rubbed my back in soothing circles. His touch was like fire on my skin. Fire that made my insides melt in pure bliss. I want to kiss my best friend so badly right now.
But I can't ruin our friendship. Crushing on Moon was not right I'm not supposed have a crush on him. But who wouldn't? He resembled an angel in the flesh with his sunset like eyes god-like face structure and his curly hair. At 14 his tall body was made of pure muscle all the girls in our freshman class wanted him. He was painfully beautiful.
