I slept like a baby and woke up with a spark in my spirit and a fire in my heart. I stayed in the bed a few more minutes letting the comfort embrace me. Xavier's mom brought me some breakfast to eat in bed. She ate along with me snuggling up under the covers.

"How'd you sleep?" Melissa asks taking a bite of her bacon.

I sighed "like I died and went to heaven."

She grins at me, happiness shining in her golden eyes.

"What has you so happy?" I ask her with a smirk.

She sighs dreamily like a high school girl with a crush. "I met someone" she says with a huge smile.

"Who?" I questioned.

"He works at the Law firm next door to my coffee shop. He's so handsome.  Oh My Goodness everytime I see him I get all flustered and my heart starts to race like it did in high school... I don't know. He makes me feel young and excited!"

"He sounds amazing! Why don't you talk to him ?"

"He's so... what's the word I'm looking for? He's so intimidating! Every time he comes in the coffee shop he has this confident stride about him. He wears very expensive looking suits.."

"So you're afraid of him?" I interrupt innocently.

She groans "I'm intimidated by him. "The guy always orders a hot black coffee, no cream no sugar."

"How does he order it? Is he kind or arrogant"? I ask.

"He's so monotone his eyes and voice gives nothing away always expressionless. I remember this one day that he came in on the phone. It looked like he was  in a heated argument. He ordered  his black coffee and when I gave it to him he threw a 20 dollar bill on the counter and left in a hurry" she concluded with a sad smile.

"well I would've been happy about the 20 dollars"

We both chuckle. "I was" she smiled.

"Maybe you should accidentally  get his order wrong so he'd have to stay and talk too you longer. Make sure to write your number on his cup too"

She gaped at me. "How do you get an order as simple as straight black coffee wrong?"

"Do you want him or not?" I ask pursing my lips.

"I want him" she mumbles.

"Okay then, follow my directions." I go on to tell her about how she should give him sweet tea instead of black coffee and when he tells her that the.    orders wrong she could apologize, flirt, and slip her number on his cup.

"PEFRECT!" She yells before giving me a bone crushing hug.

"You're the daughter I never had" she says before kissing my cheek and taking our empty plates off the bed.

That comment took me off guard. I immediately thought about Xavier. "Has he called you?" The words tumbled out of my mouth in a timid but, determined rush.

"No"  she replies as she sets the plates on the dresser before coming to sit beside me and, hold my hand.

"Oh" I whisper.

She begins to rub my back in a soothing motion. "I shouldn't have agreed on him going".

I scowl. Well duh!

When I look at her my anger melts away. Her eyes are filled  with so much sadness. "When I was with Frank I was so lost. I didn't know what to do without him. I didn't think for myself and I let him judge everything that I did"
