I woke up around 7 and showered for about 30 minutes, I wrapped my hair up in a towel so it could dry, then brushed my teeth. I got dressed and decided to wear a white tank top with black joggers, finishing the look off with Nike socks and slides. When I went back to the bathroom to do my hair I noticed how my light blue towel was ruined with violet hair dye all smeared over it. Groaning I washed out the rest of the dye leaving my hair the dark brown it once was and a little purple left on the ends. I didn't know how to exactly feel about it though. The main reason I dyed my hair was to change or become a more confident me. I guess I felt confident when it was first dyed but as time went on, I felt the same in violet hair as I did in my natural hair color, so if changing my hair color wont make me feel confident what will?
My phone began to ring distracting me from my thoughts. "Hello?" I answered. "Hey I'm waiting outside." Jades chirpy voice said." Why are we going somewhere today?" I questioned I don't remember us making any plans, unless I forgot." Yep, we are going to a little place called school where they have pencils, books, moody teenagers, and the bane of my existence. I dropped my jaw in pure shock , I totally forgot we had school today. "Wait a minute, today's Monday?" I asked." Yes its the day after Sunday and before Tuesday." I looked at my calendar to make sure she isn't messing with me. It is Monday. The winter break felt like one measley day, so its 2018 right now, oh yeah I spent my new year crying over a douche bag." Ok I'm on the way I tell her before hanging up."
I look at my reflection one more time and put my damp hair up in the worlds messiest bun and slap some mascara and lip gloss on then make my way downstairs. I give my mom a kiss on the cheek before leaving out. I rush to get in the running blue Ford Mustang. "Hey you" my best friend greets as I enter her car. "Hey babe, when did you get this car?" Jade grins mischievously at my question. "Me and my sister fought over it." I laugh. "Oh no" she shrugs with pride gleaming in her eyes. "Let's just say, I won". "Good job love". I tell her in a British accent. She chuckles before handing me a Starbucks cup. "Here is your caramel latte with extra caramel. "Thank you love, what would I do without you?" " I honestly have no idea." she winks. We drive in a comfortable silence with the sweet sounds of Tori Kelly coming from the stereo. An obsession me and Jade share. "So what happened that night after me and Lucky left." She asked after a minute. A knot forms in my stomach at the mention of that dreadful night. "I went to the park and Moon came to get me. We got in this fight and now we're no longer friends, it's better that way."Jade purses her lips. "I never did like him." I laugh, "Oh yeah the way you drooled at the picture of him I showed you definitely made me believe you didn't like him."
"Well looks can be deceiving". She. said shaking her head in disappointment. I didn't reply not wanting to talk about Moon anymore. She must've picked up on it because she cut up the radio. When we finally made it to school, Jade searched for a parking spot I noticed a shiny black Mercedes pull up right in the parking spot Jade was going to take. She gasped loudly hitting the breaks to prevent us from hitting the jerks who stole our spot.
"What the hell!" Jade screeched. "Who is this idiot!" " Calm down there's a spot right there." I said taking a deep breath. I pointed to a vacant spot that was about two spots away from the spot she wanted. She speedily parked in it. When she got out of the car slamming the door and putting her hair in a ponytail I knew exactly what was going to happen. I followed her as she marched up to the black Mercedes looking fierce in her black sweater, blue high waist jeans and knee high boots. When we finally approached the Mercedes I was not surprised to see Moon,Gage, and Ava.
They were leaning against the Mercedes laughing at something. Evidently laughing at us. "Hey hot stuff" Gage said to Jade I cringed as he bit his lip. She took a deep breath but I noticed how her fist was still balled up. "Who was driving?" She questioned camly. "What's it to you!" Ava butt in. "Control her before she gets hurt." Jade points at Ava while looking at Moon. Ava said something else but no one listened "I was driving babe what's the problem?" Gage says walking closer to us. I stepped in front of Jade knowing she won't hesitate to fight. "You took her parking spot and almost made us crash!" Ava and Gage shared a laugh but, Moon just smirked. "I want to know what the hell is so funny!" Jade growled stepping closer to Gage causing me to step up with her. "You both are really sexy when you're mad how about we go behind the school and release some of this sexual tension." Before I knew it my hand struck his face, hard enough to bruise my hand. "You bi-" Gage began until Moon grabbed him by his shoulder. "Baby that slut slapped my brother do something about it!" Ava whined tending to her brother's red face. I looked at Moon with one of my freshly waxed eyebrows raised. I looked straight at him challenging him, daring him to say something.
