"Cmon! Tell me your name!" Michael whined, stomping his feet like a little kid. But Luke shook his head in dismissal, sipping on the iced coffee (which Michael said it was too cold out for. Cmon dude it's 45 out).
Michael was having a swell time, despite the occasional long pauses because Luke didn't know what to say. Or Michael was just overwhelmed by the fact he was talking to someone so beautiful, he just needed a break.
Luke also zoned out a lot, just staring off not at on any particular person or thing, just kinda sitting there and trying to absorb what's around him. Michael never seemed upset when he had to retell a story or a phrase. Or remind him what they're talking about, Luke felt bad but it was such a habit.
Like his swaying, just pointless rocking back and forth ever so softly. It was never pointed out, but Luke tried his hardest to do stuff for the sake of this conversation/ coffee date kind of thing.
Michael let out a huff, his cheeks are a bright pink, but trying to act smooth. Like he does with the ladies.
"I told you my full name! Why can't you tell me your first name!" The ending of the sentence ended in a long whine as Michael threw himself on the table, begging Luke to spill his name.
They've been at the café for a good 15 minutes and not once did Luke spill his name, leaving Michael to guess what it was. Michael, he guessed a lot. There wasn't a name that Michael didn't guess, besides Luke.
Luke wasn't one of the 30 names he checked. Luke kept track.
Luke was really having a good time, but his voice was really monotone- his expressions are blank. One thing you can see is the fondness in his eyes, they're sparkling as Michael excitedly guesses his name.
"Matt?" The lilac boy asked, banging his fists softly on the table.
Luke just nodded, wanting Michael to be happy he guessed 'correctly'.
"Wait, that's not your name. You're trying to bamboozle me."
Luke kinda chuckled, shaking his head wondering the fùck is a bamboozle. He stood up, Michael watching his lankiness in nothing but admiration.
"Listen, Michael. I'd love to chat, but I have some important business to attend to." The blond said, standing up and throwing a ten dollar bill on the table.
"Find me tomorrow, and Ill tell you."
With that, Luke walked off giving Michael a small wave good-bye.
~
"Welcome to Taco Bell. What can I get for you?"
Michael stood there with his jaw on the floor, this was his important business?
Michael looked on his name tag that just blandly read 'Luke'
"Really, Luke? You left me for this?" He said in a faux offended voice, his hand over his chest while Luke shook his head.
"What do you want Michael? You know we do have to pay for college stuff." Luke responded, his voice blander than ever but yet held a type of joking manner to it.
Michael amusingly rested his hand on the counter and smugly ordered a beam burrito and some other gross contraptions of food and one of those mountain dew drinks.
Luke gave him his total and Michael handed the exact change.
"Thanks, Lukey." Michael thanked him, moving down the line to wait for his food. His face pink, and heart beating fast just from the presence of Luke.
Give it a couple minutes and Michael's order is done. Given that that particular Taco Bell is almost always empty, it's always a good idea to head to this one. Now that he knows Luke works here (how hasn't he noticed before? Hes here always). He finds it a thousand times more assuming to be here. Bidding his farewell to Luke- who again just gave him a small wave goodbye- Michael grabbed his bag and left.
Unlocking his dainty car, he hopped in and closed his eyes. The lilac boy just sat there for a while, before leaning his head on the steering wheel. He was overwhelmed by Luke, but also not knowing much about him except his beauty. That's another thing that bugged Michael, he doesn't know anything.
He would make poetry about Luke but only from a physical perspective, nothing about his favorite color or what foods he likes, his secret likes and his dislikes. What keeps Luke up at night? What does he do at college? What's his favorite song, or something he secretly loves to do? Does he own pets? There's so much Michaels craving for but there's so little provided.
Luke wasn't a talker, at least not at first but when he did speak. Michael fell more and more in love with Luke for no dãmn reason.
Michael prays this won't fuck him over.
