I still can't believe he said thank you. What happened to Yoongi? It's been three days since the party, and I still can't get over it. He actually smiled at me, and he meant it in a sincere way. I guess he can be alright once in a while.
I dribble the ball in front of me, absentmindedly staring off into space while I do it. I continue to sit on the bench as Jimin watches from the bleachers on the other side of the court, his phone in his hand as he texts his girlfriend. I've only met her like once, but she seemed to really care for him. I'm glad that my best friend has someone like that to look after him.
I can feel the hair on the back of my neck prickle, immediately knowing that someone is behind me. I wasn't paying attention at the time, but my basketball senses start to kick in. I quickly do a cross over as I am still sitting down, the basketball now being dribbled on the other side of me. I peak over my shoulder as Jackson, a guy on my team, looks at me with a shocked look on his face.
"The fuck? How did you know that I was here?"
I simply shrug, still dribbling as I look at him. I watch in slight amusement as his bemused expression turns into one of awe, a smile lighting up his face.
"Dude, that was awesome! You are totally badass" he says as he jumps over the bench and plops down right next to me. I smile up at him, pleased that another guy on the team is warming up to me. I stop dribbling and bring the ball into my lap, accepting the high-five that he gives me.
"You're name's Bohemian right?"
I nod, watching the unease from his eyes vanish as soon as I confirmed his question.
"Great, 'cause it was gunna be hella awkward if it wasn't."
I can't help but laugh as I shake my head, my bangs brushing the tops of my eyebrows.
"You know what? You're pretty cool" he says while casually slinging his arm over my shoulder. I am slightly startled by the sudden physical contact, but I don't move away. It's not like he was doing it to hit on me or anything. Jackson just seems like he is a touchy person.
"Come on ugly. Coach wants me to train with you today."
I scowl up at Yoongi as he spins a basketball on the tip of his finger, glancing casually at me. I immaturely stick my tongue out at him, kicking out my foot to try and mess him up. I glare at him as he simply steps out of the way, the ball still spinning perfectly in his hands.
"Why are you so mean to your girlfriend hyung?" Jackson asks, his arm still around my shoulders. I puff out my chest as if to say "yeah Yoongi", smirking when he sneers at me.
"Because I can be."
I stand up from my seat and pretend like I am going to throw my ball at his face, smiling when he finally loses his composure. He noticeably flinches, dropping the ball as he covers his face.
"Yeah. That's what I thought bitch" I whisper in his ear, smiling over my shoulder at Jackson as his high-pitched laugh fills my ears. I grab a still-shocked Yoongi by the arm, dragging him over to where our coach is waiting for us.
"Come on grandpa. Let's get this over with."
