"I'll meet you right here" I tell Yoongi after we finish practicing, walking over to my sports bag. I put all of my thing inside of it, like my reusable water bottle, basketball shoes, and headband, before zipping it up and swinging it over my arm. I high-five Yoongi before walking over to the girl's locker room, him heading towards the guy's.
Its been around three weeks since the first time Yoongi caught me practicing extra, and he has been practicing with me. I told him that he didn't have to, but he insisted. He is actually a nice person when he isn't criticizing me, me finding myself actually enjoying his presence. We have a lot more in common than I originally thought that we did, us instantly clicking as we talk about rap, music, basketball, and playing the piano.
I hurriedly shower before changing into some loose sweats and a cropped t-shirt, pulling on my white and light blue striped Adidas. I go to pull my hair into a ponytail and freeze, listening closely as voices start talking inside the hallway right outside the locker room door.
Now, I know that I should let them argue in peace, but what's the fun in that? I'm a snoop at heart, so who would I be if I didn't listen in a little bit? Probably a normal person, but being normal isn't really my style.
"Why didn't you tell me?" someone yells in a high-pitched voice, making me cringe. Maybe eavesdropping isn't such a good idea after all, my ears already ringing from the annoying tone of this bitch's voice.
"I-I'm sorry" someone says in a timid voice, making me stop before I turn around. Wait, isn't that Clara? I walk toward the door and peek out through the little slits in the metal, my eyes widening when I find that I was correct. Clara stands with her back towards me as Yoongi's ex, who I still have no fucking idea what her name is, glares at her with her manicured hands on her waist.
"I-I thought I told you I w-was going on a double date with Yoongi and his girlfriend" Clara continues, keeping my name out of her sentence. I actually find myself feeling grateful towards her for that, it obvious why she skipped over me. It doesn't seem like Yoongi's ex, who I will now juts call The Bitch, knows my name, and I would like to keep it that way.
"Yeah I know, but that's not why I'm mad" The Bitch says with a growl. I watch as he sighs dramatically while tossing her hair over both of her shoulders, her eyes rolling so far that I half expect them to tumble right out of her empty head.
"I'm mad because you said you weren't dating Taemin, but you lied to me."
My eyes widen even more at what she said, not believe it at all. What is wrong with Taemin? He is a really nice guy from what I can tell. He is a little on the quiet side, but I don't see anything wrong with that.
"But I really like him" Clara says quietly, seemingly shrinking in on herself. The Bitch laughs mockingly as she takes a step forward, Clara backing up as she does so.
"You like him do you?" she says in a teasing voice, her lips out in a fake pout. "Well that sucks. He's a loser. He used to be cool because of his dancing until he hurt his leg. Now he's a nobody in this school, and you know my rules."
I almost go out there when I see her get in Clara's face, suddenly feeling angry. I restrain myself though, not wanting The Bitch to know that I am here. That might turn into a huge fight knowing my temper, and I don't want to get kicked off the team for violence.
"I can't be friends with people who date losers" she says before turning on her heels, her hair hitting Clara right in the face. I watch her go before busting into laughter and opening the door, Clara's face displaying her shock as she turns around at the sound.
"Did you hear this bitch?" I ask between my giggles, unable to stop the smile from spreading across my face. "'I can't be friends with people who date losers'. What sort of lame ass rule is that?"
"You know, she doesn't seem like she's a good friend" I say quietly when I notice the hurt look on her face from what she was told earlier. She nods slowly, it almost as if she is agreeing with me but doesn't want to.
"I get it, you want to stay loyal to your best friend. She probably wasn't queen of the divas before high school, and you're hoping that she returns to the way she used to be."
Clara looks up at me in shock, her probably wondering how I got it right. I simply shrug, stepping closer to her sad form as I do so.
"I don't think she's good for you though. You need someone who will back you up no matter who you want to date, especially when you seem to like him so much" she sighs as I say this, her lip caught between her teeth as she looks down in thought. She is taller than I am by quite a bit, that making it easier to see her facial expressions.
"Yoongi and I were headed out to get some frozen yogurt with some of his other friends if you would like to join us" I say softly, not sure if I'm making the right decision. She had been mean to me at first, but I don't think she wanted to be. "You can call Taemin and ask him to come as well."
She looks at me and I smile, not wanting her to feel uncomfortable. From what I could tell from our double date, she was a completely different person than what I originally thought she was. I don't usually get along with girls, but she was surprisingly easy to talk to. I feel like if she was to distance herself from her toxic friendship she would be able to open up more and become the person that she really wants to be.
"Yeah" she says softly before smiling herself, making my smile widen. "I think I'd like that."
