"Are you sure you're ok" Jimin asks again as we get back to his house, his eyes soft as he looks over at me. He pats the bed beside him and I sit down, putting my head on his shoulder as he strokes my hair.
"Surprisingly, I think I am" I answer back, still shocked that I don't feel sad at all. I guess I really had fallen out of love with Hyung Seok, me just wanting to cling onto him because of our past together. I didn't want to break up with him because he had always been there for me, but seeing him tonight helped me see that I shouldn't stay with him.
"I still can't believe he was cheating on me though" I sigh, still finding it hard to believe. We were really close friends in high school, so I knew that he was a player. He toyed with girls and then just left them, not really caring about their feelings. I thought he had changed for me though. He said that he fell in love with me, and I stupidly thought that he meant it. Maybe he did, but tonight just proved that not everyone can change for the better.
"I'm sorry I ruined your birthday Jimin" I say while softly smiling up at him, feeling horrible for everything that has happened so far. He breaks up with his girlfriend and then we go out so that he can forget about her only to get mixed up in my drama.
"It hasn't been ruined" he says with a shake of his head, pulling back to look at me. "I got to spend the night with you, and thats all that matters. Yeah, we had to go home earlier than I thought we would, but that doesn't change the fact that I'm lucky to have you in my life."
"He didn't deserve someone as caring as you" he finishes off with, making my smile widen to the point of it being painful. I coo at his adorableness before pulling I'm into a hug, kissing his cheek as I do so.
"I love you Chimchim" I say while squeezing the life out of him, smiling when he giggles cutely. He mumbles an "I love you too", his voice muffled due to his head being buried into the crook of my neck. We stay like this for a few minutes before he pulls away, his hand ruffling my bangs.
"Platonically of course."
"Obviously" I say with a roll of my eyes, smacking his shoulder as he chuckles.
"Hey, you can never be too careful these days dude" he says while hugging me again, his cheek resting on the top of my head. "I really do consider you to be my best friend Mia.....which is why I have to talk to you about Yoongi."
My eyes widen as I pull away to look at him, my cheeks growing hot just from the mention of his name. Jimin looks down at me before a teasing smirk appears on his face.
"Its quite obvious that you like him" he says as he nudges me gently, making me blush even more. "You were clinging to Hyung Seok because he has been with you for so long, but I could tell that you were falling hard for Yoongi. Now that you are single, why don't you tell him how much you like him?"
"I don't wanna get hurt" I whisper softly, rubbing at my arms as I do so. "I don't want to get rejected just for him to go back to The Bitch the he seems to like so much."
Jimin sighs, "you never know until you try. You should go to him Mia. No matter what happens, I will be here if you need me."
"Thanks Jimin" I say before hugging him once again, standing from my spot next to him. He waves as I walk out of his room and down the stairs, leaving his house after I borrow one of his jackets.
He was right. I can't continue pushing my feelings for him aside. I like Yoongi, and I should tell him that. I have been trying to deny my feels for so long, Hyung Seok the only thought on my mind. Now that we aren't together anymore I don't have to feel guilty about how I feel. Even if he doesn't like me back, I still have to tell him how I feel. No matter what happens, I at least deserve to get this off my chest.
The air is cold as I walk towards Yoongi's house, suddenly glad that I borrowed one of Jimin's jackets. I hope that he went home for the weekend and didn't stay at his school dorm because I would hate to have come all this way for nothing. My stomach turns in nauseating circles as I go over what I am going to say in my head, my pace slowing down once his house comes into view.
My footsteps slow down until they stop completely, my mouth hanging slack as I look at Yoongi's front door. It is dark outside but his porch light is on, displaying everything that is happening. I watch as Yoongi and his ex talk on the front step, my heart thudding loudly in my chest.
She leans froward and kisses him, her hands wrapping around his neck as she pushes her body against his. I feel a sharp pain in my chest when I see this but I don't look any just yet. I don't want to be like those girls in fan actions and movies who run away before seeing the whole thing. She might be forcing herself onto him, and if I leave now I won't know the truth.
I should have left when I had the chance
I should have left when I saw her kiss him because then I wouldn't have had to witness him kiss her back. Something inside of me feels like it breaks when I see his hands wrap around her waist, his lips moving against hers at a fast pace. I sink to my knees as he fumbles behind him to open his front door, bringing the both of them inside before it shuts and blocks my sight.
My eyes sting, my throat clogged with emotion as I continuing to stare at his door as if in a trance. I don't want to cry. I haven't cried tears of sadness in so long, my whole head throbbing in pain as I try and prevent myself from doing so now. When the sob I had been keeping at bay makes it past my lips I know that I have lost, the tears streaming down my cheeks as I bring my trembling hands up to cover my face.
I can't catch a break, can I? My boyfriend cheats on me and I finally come to terms with my feelings only to have everything crash down on me all at once. I knew that there was a possibility that Yoongi wouldn't like me back, but I didn't know that it would hurt this bad when I found out.
