The Guardians had all defeated Pitch long ago, half a year to be exact. Coincidentally, the day Pitch was vanquished, Jack went with him. The Guardians all tried to come up with reasons for his absence, but nothing panned out. After a while, they stopped searching, they had other duties to attend to ... and besides, Christmas couldn't be put on hold.
Manny never told them where he was, and while they briefly wondered why ... They never asked. They simply held onto hope that one day he'd come walking back into the North palace.
