Chapter Seven: Doubts: Katherine Light
Katherine looked at her son Nicolas with a sorrow ache filling her chest. She knew that Nicolas wasn't this harsh and he always fought what he believed what was right and wrong even if it meant going against the world. Right now he was just talking with his head filled with so many emotions he wanted to get it out on someone.
"No its tomorrow and you will not go against my orders" her husband Harvey said to Nicolas
"We must do it now!" Nicolas said raising his voice at his father
"Nicolas!" Katherine said shocked and now feeling angry the way Nicolas was acting toward his father. Especially when she knew that Carrie and Jonathan were hiding something sinister. She didn't believe the guard did it, since she went to talk to him to find what really happen but first gave him a potion that would let him only tell the truth, which work because she asked questions that only the guard would know about his royals, especially if they are in higher ranking like he was. Unfortunately, the potion didn't work for other royal blood or else she would have given Carrie and Jonathan some to find the truth.
"You will not speak little that with your father! Now you either you follow your father's rules and beg forgiveness or you an Elizabeth can pack your bags and leave, but you won't have enough money to buy her medicines" Katherine added in a stern, cold voice when Nicolas stared straight at her in motionless eyes.
Nicolas not knowing what to do, he looked at Carrie and asked
"Isn't it your decision to what happens to the guard?"
"No ...we gave that power to your parents in exchange to lend their doctor," Carrie said in a helpless voice
"........fine" Nicolas said to his mother looking at her with anger but was replaced with guilt when he saw the hurt look his mother sent him. Nicolas sigh then knelt in one knee and said
"Dear father, please forgive me. I was not thinking straight and not acting like myself"
"It's okay why don't you go to check on Elizabeth and while you're at it take a rest?" Nicolas father said
Nicolas stood up and nod at his father as he walked out the throne room without saying anything leaving a still silence behind him. Until Katherine that knew her son like the palm of her hand excuse herself and went to find the captain of the guards, so she could tell him to put eight extra guards with the prisoner and treat him with respect also not to let her son near the cell, leaving her husband with the two cobras that would do anything to get Harvey in their side before its all too late.
