After mama tells me what she believes was going on in Mia's head at the time two years ago, I agree.

I hated getting emotional and shit, because it shows how soft I really am; unless it comes to being on the basketball court. I have to put all my emotions behind, put on a game face, and lead my team.

I check my rolex and sigh. After explaining the moment I saw Mia from the party, and up to now where I saw my baby in a hospital bed, it's been about 2 hours or so.

"So...shouldn't you go back and check on your daughter? To make sure she's alright?"

At that moment, my eyes widen and I accidently cuss under my breath. She's right!

"Yeah, you're right! I've gotta make sure my daughter is okay- thanks mama!! I love you!" I kiss her cheek and sprint out the door before she could say I love you back.

I've got a huge responsibility now! I'm a father. Now I have a reason to go back there. Not for Mia, but to be what I've always dreamed of being ever since I met her. A real father.

I memorized the room number and floor Mia & my babygirl were on. I had to catch my breath once I got into the elevator. I guess I'm...worried.

Not that I don't trust hospitals, but I'm worried about how my daughter will view me. She's only like a year old or what not. It makes me wonder how their brains see things.

Will she like- no, love me? Will she accept one day that her father missed a whole year of her life? Is she gonna let me hold her in my arms? Will she smile happily, or flinch, and be scared of me?

The same doctor that told me to come inside a few hours ago was writing on a desk, and talking to her coworkers. An idea pops into my head, and I walk over to her.

"Hi! Can I help you?" She smiles brightly. Even her wrinkles were in a good mood.

"Hi, I came here earlier in the Michaels room-"

"Oh yes! I remember. Do you want me to escort you there aga-"

"No, no. I just want to give my child a bigger, or a much better room. I didn't like how small it was, and I'm willing to pay for it." I tell her as she smiles and nods, motioning me to follow her to the few rooms they had.

"Your baby will be here for more than we expected. Her fever has risen a little more, and the mother agreed to let her stay another night. She plans to stay all night with her. So, this one can be for both of them." She turns on the lights to show me a much larger room, bigger beds, rocking chair, colorful toddler toys, a large tv and a better view of the outside. There were large curtains to cover over it when the night time comes.

"It's perfect. Thank you." I hand her money as she shakes her head, pushing my arm away.

"No, no it's fine! I like you and your family. Nobody is really here today, nor are there any requests to use them. You are much nicer and more sweeter than the other families I've dealt with so I'm fine with-"
