AFTER OUR CONFRONTATION with Sara, Noah and I are being very wary around her. I don't know if she has other motives, like, for example, taking us all down. Maybe she secretly hates us all. I mean, she got a tattoo just to join us. That's suspicious already.

Come on Lola, not everyone is suspicious, I try to reassure myself. But maybe everyone is.

I lug Nola up the stairs to school and move in the direction of the bathrooms. It's been one week since Noah and I's incident, and I'm about to head back to the same class where it all started.

I open the door to the bathrooms and see Em in there, with two other girls. Perfect time to discuss what happened yesterday.

I give a pointed look to the other two girls, "Skedaddle."

They scramble out, leaving Em and I alone.

I put my bag down on be counter and turn to face her, "What do you think of Sara?" I ask in what I hope is an inconspicuous way.

"What do you mean, Lo? Don't tell me you're suspicious of another person. I know how you get," she shakes her head while touching up her lipstick. Hourglass. Love the brand.

I pull out an identical lipstick and begin to apply it. "She got into Noah's locker yesterday. Was rifling through, looking for something," I tell her, watching her closely for her reaction.

Her eyes widen and she stops reapplying. "What? She got into his locker? How in the world did she do that?"

"No idea. But I don't trust her. Firstly, she invited us to her party. Why? Secondly, she got a tattoo for us. Why? Thirdly, she breaks into Noah's locker. Why?! What's her deal?"

"Well, when you put it that way, she does sound slightly suspicious."

"You think??!"

"Okay fine. We should tell the others."

"No!" I yell. Noah had specifically told me that we couldn't tell the others. This excludes Em, of course. A girl's always going to tell her best friend, he knows this by now.

"The files she was looking for, I don't know what No's up to, but he wants to keep it on the dlow for now."

"No?" She smiles at my old nickname for him. "Don't tell me you're crushing on him again." Her face says she's joking, but her eyes hold a different story: concern.

She saw what happened when we broke up last time. She was there for me when I didn't get out of bed for over a week straight. She brought me ice cream and cried through multiple episodes of The Vampire Diaries with me - the last episode of season eight is absolutely killer, prepare a whole tissue box.

I roll my eyes playfully, "Of course not, silly."

"We should have a sleepover on Friday. Girls night," she suggests. "We haven't had one in so long, I miss them."

"It's only been a month or so," I laugh.

"See! A month! It's been too long," she laughs back to me.

Em and I are the closest out of us girls. I'm one of the lucky few that have found a friend, a best friend that just gets me. And I get her. She knows everything about me, including everything that happened on Halloween two years ago. She protects me, I protect her.

"See you later, Emmy babe!" I call out as I leave, picking up Nola who was resting on the counter.

"Bye Lollipop!" She laughs back to me.

Mr Krine decides now is the time for a one week update on how we're going with the baby. When he calls us up, I'm slightly nervous, but at least I know that my baby hasn't been dropped in a pool. I just feel sorry for Arlo's partner.
