BEFORE LONG, IT'S Friday. My favourite day of the week - other than Saturday of course.

School's just finished, and I make my way out to my car and hop inside, opening up Twitter while I wait for Em. The mysterious page 'Morringsworth Mistakes' has been surprisingly quiet ever since the first post and I'm not too sure whether that's a good thing, or a bad thing.

I look up from my phone and see zen running out of the building whilst waving in my direction. I honk the horn back in response, earning a few annoyed stares from the other students. They immediately drop their gazes back to their original expressions when they see which car it is making the racket.

"What's for dinner?" She pants as she gets into the car. The door slams shut behind her and I quickly reverse out of the park and begin in the direction of my house.

"I don't know, it's only three-thirty. I haven't thought about it yet."

"Maia has the night off tonight, and usually Saturday nights as well, so we'll be fending for ourselves."

Em's face falls, "I love Maia's cooking," she sighs sadly.

"We have chocolate cake in the fridge?"

"YES YES YES!" Emerson sings in excitement. Her expression grows serious for a second, "Berries?"

"Of course."

"Wooohoooo. This is a cause for celebration!"

"Get wrecked iPhone 7! Sixes all the way," she yells, plugging the aux cord into her phone.

My face immediately turns up into a wide grin and I let out a laugh at her. My spirits are always lifted with her overly happy mood.

Soon enough, the notes of, 'New Rules' are pumping out of the car.

"One! Don't pick up the phone! You know he's only calling 'cause he's drunk and alone!" She points to me.

"Two! Don't let him in, you'll have to kick him out again!" I sing back.

"Three! Don't be his friend, you know you're going to wake up in his bed in the morning!" We chorus together.

"And if you're under him, you ain't getting over him!" We scream in unison, laughing.

By the time the song ends, we're sitting at the traffic lights with the windows down.

The beginning of the next song begins to play, and I recognise it immediately. You know those songs, where you only have to hear two seconds of it and you already have all the lyrics ready in your head? This is one of those.

"I LOVE HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL!" I scream excitedly, gearing up to belt out all the words. My foot accidentally presses harder on the accelerator with all the energy, and the car jolts forwards as I drive. I send a guilty glance over to Em who just smiles back.

"WHAT ABOUT US? WHAT ABOUT EVERYTHING WE'VE BEEN THROUGH?" Em holds her hand to her heart.

"WHAT ABOUT TRUST? YOU KNOW I NEVER WANTED TO HURT YOU!" I intertwine our fingers together, as our arms are stretched out inbetween our two seats.

We're yet again at another set of traffic lights, and I look out my window to see the person to my right giving us a weird stare.

"What are you looking at? It's high school musical for God's sake, don't you dare disrespect it!" I yell at the lady, who looks startled. She rolls up her window in response.
