Kent's Point of View
I ran past the students who went home and out of the school. Fred is in big trouble this time.
I took my bike and started riding all the way to my house. Because that's where Fred always messes up.
You see, Fred has been my best friend and my only true friend at school because we were almost the same. We always mess up and teachers hate us because we're one step ahead of everything they know.
To describe him, Fred is a nerd looking guy with freckles on his face and black shaggy hair. He wears eye glasses but only sometimes. He doesn't believe the fact that he's starting to go blind so he'd take the eye glasses off just to prove that he isn't going blind which is pretty stupid if you ask me.
I opened the door and the house was dark. But this time there was something unusual. The house was the same. Dark and silent. But something was wrong.
I noticed the weird, different thing I felt in the house. The basement door was open.
I was caught in the state of shock. Dad had forbidden me to go to the basement. He said "my mind isn't ready yet". Don't know what that meant but I followed his orders.
I took a flashlight and walked slowly towards the basement.
I lighted the basement and saw some glimpses of how it looked like.
Wooden planks served as walls while cobwebs and dust are all around the place. I saw tools, chests and other stuff. It looked neater than my room even if half the items were dusty.
"I need to start cleaning." I mumbled to myself.
I kept going down. The scent started to change from a modern, sala set smell to a more Classic, old scent. It's as if I'm sniffing a century old book. Yeah that kind of smell.
I was really getting creeped out by how deep our basement actually was, but then something caught my attention.
A faded blue light shimmered at the end of the tunnel--err basement I mean.
Every time I take a step, the stairs would creak like in horror movies. I felt like I was being filmed or something like that. But when I reached the end . . .
The scene was not what I expected.
It was still dusty, but it went from "scary dark basement" to "techy underground base". It was full of control panels. I saw a silhouette of a guy but I didn't pay attention to the person.
I was staring at the portal. It was a blue, fluid, swirling portal over 10 feet tall.
This fitted under my house?!
But what was weirder was that it was attracting me. It looked ravishing. It was calling out to me.
I walked towards it while pointing my hand towards it.
It was beautiful. Attractive. It seemed so persuasive. Like it was calling me.
I took another step. And went closer.
But then I woke up when someone pulled me so hard I stumbled on the dusty, cement floor.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Said Fred, who was sweating and panting.
I sprang back to reality and saw Fred in front of me.
I shook my head and looked at Fred, "Shouldn't I be asking you that?"
