Kent's Point Of View

"You know this is dangerous." said the guy with a surgical mask.

I was confined in a hospital I could barely resemble. I couldn't move my body but I knew I was conscious. There were three men, all in surgical uniforms. The one besides me seemed familiar but I couldn't make it out because of the mask.

"I have no choice," the familiar one sighed, "sooner or later he'll find about it. This'll be his only protection."

"You know the dangers of activating his DNA. Why would you risk it?" asked the third one.

"He's intelligent. He'll find a way." said the familiar guy. Then he injected something on my arms and my head felt heavy.

The scene quickly shifted. I was in outer space. In the darkness, many different life forms circled me. They were all staring at me, chanting only one thing, all in chorus.

"Find the truth."

I gasped. I opened my eyes but I couldn't move my body because it was still aching. I tried to stand up but then I was quickly pulled back to the bed. I know I could sit down but I couldn't even move a muscle.

I turned to my right and found a girl sleeping just beside. I tried to move my hand but same results. I was pulled back again. I was too heavy.

"Hey, a little help here?" I whispered.

She jolted into life and rubbed her eyes.

"You're already awake?" She asked,"That's insane."

She tapped some buttons on my heart monitor and suddenly I felt light.

"Gravity bed. Sorry for that." she apologized.

"I'm Commander Leara, one of the main four commanders under the lieutenant." She doesn't look like a soldier. More like a medic. She had black wavy hair and dark brown eyes. She had a sweet smile that makes you wonder if she was actually a commander.

"Don't try to introduce yourself. I already know you. You've been with one of my apprentices." she switched to a deadly tone.

Who does she mean?

"You mean Eliza?" I said the only thought possible. My throat was still dry so it came out a bit sore.

"Yes. You'll see her again but for now you need to res-" I stopped her from speaking and sat down.

"No. I'm fine. I can move. If they were here, bring me to them." I ordered. I then realized I was talking to a commander.

"If you say so," she stood up and stretched a little. She was wearing a black undershirt and camo pants with boots.

I stood up and looked at the dextrose, only to find something else.

It wasn't connected to a hose. It was a simple dextrose on my wrist without any connections at all.

I was wearing new clothes. All in camouflage. I was a little tipsy but I regained my balance after a few steps.

Leara was still dead serious. She showed me the different sectors of the base. Different alien and human faces looked at me like I had some contagious disease.

"Where's my bag?" I asked.

"In your room." She replied shortly. She continued walking and introducing me to different rooms like the canteens, the medical rooms and the weaponries.

Afterwards we walked outside and saw hundreds of different aliens all in the same camo suits as I am. Training them was a bulky, blue alien with frozen spikes on his hair.

An iceman. Just like I've faced before. He walked towards us as the soldiers took their breaks.

"So this is the new recruit?" He asked with degradation.

"Yes. He was able to shut the ship down three days ago. He'll be quite a big help." said Leara.

I WAS KNOCKED OUT FOR THREE DAYS?

"Okayy." The ice guy turned to me, "Azrael. One of the four commanders of the lieutenant." He offered me his hand but I hesitated to shake it.

"You know much huh? Don't worry, my freezing attributes are in manipulation. You won't freeze." He offered his hand again.

I shook his hand and didn't freeze, but it was still ice cold.

"Your training will start tomorrow. For now, you can rest and roam around." He said calmly.

I nodded and quickly turned around without saying good bye. Leara chased me but I didn't bother to look back.

I walked around the crowd till I lost Leara. Then I sneaked back into my room and locked the door.

I found my bag sitting at the corner of the room, which was unusual. It had some burns but it's still a whole. I walked towards it and took the journal.

I made sure no one was watching. I opened the journal and started reading about the concentrate's effects.

Electric Concentrated Core:
-boosts original speed by 120%
-generates and conducts electricity
-surges through body parts when touched without protection
-2 weeks of paralyzation or unconsciousness after effects are gone

I should be out for two weeks?

I continued reading but then someone knocked on the door. I hid the journal under my pillow and shouted, "Who is it?!"

"Commander Leara. Someone's here to see you." The voice was pretty much the commander. I walked to the door and unlocked it. And I was in for a big surprise.

As she promised, Eliza and Arson was there. Arson tackled me quickly while Eliza silently entered the room.

"Where's Fred?" I asked them. Arson's expression suddenly turned dark.

"H-He's gone. . . He took a bullet for me when the Mercions attacked. . . He was blasted from existence. I'm sorry Kent," Eliza started breaking up. She rubbed her tears away as Arson ran to her and comforted her.

They're joking right? That's impossible.

I looked at the wall and suddenly felt the stream of sadness flowing into me. Even though he was too childish and insensitive sometimes, he's still the best friend I could ask for.

I felt my heart getting heavy. I balled my fist as I felt my blood rushing.

I'll avenge you. Just a little more time.
