Addison's P.O.V.
I got home from school and started to get ready for my date with Parker. I couldn’t say that enough. I had a date with Parker Rosenwood tonight! I got home at four, and even though he was picking me up at 5:30, I still started to get ready right away.
I re-curled my hair, hoping that no one would notice that it was redone. I redid my makeup and changed my clothes. I wanted to look nice but not like I was trying too hard. I knew that Parker would know I was trying, and I knew that he would be also trying to impress me.
I figured that even if we didn’t completely figure out what our friendship or relationship is, I wouldn’t mind. I would just try to see if I like him and if he likes me as much as I like him.
I got done getting ready again at a little past 5 o’clock. I had a half an hour to try to calm my nerves and get my mind off of the fact that I, Addison Greyson, have a date with Parker. I absolutely can’t wait. I thought about starting a movie, but then I figured since I had about a little less than a half an hour, I probably wouldn’t get to far into it.
I heard my mom and dad walk in from visiting my grandparents. They sounded like they had forgotten about my date tonight.
“Hey Addison, how was your day at school?” My mother asked.
“It was pretty good, but the learning part kinda ruined it.” I laughed.
“Well honey, that’s why you go to school, I don’t know if you remember that or anything at all.” My father joked, or at least tried to.
“Yeah, but they could make it a little better.” I said trying to get him to realize that was a dumb attempt to be a joke.
“What are we all doing this wonderful evening?” My dad asked. He must have forgotten I had a date.
“Well dad, Ihaveadate.” I said quickly.
“With who?”
“Parker.”
“Parker who?”
“Parker Rosenwood.” I smiled.
“Parker Rosenwood? I think I’ve heard that name at work or something. He must be a good kid if I’ve heard of him, or he’s a delinquent. Which is he?” My dad just had to get all father-like.
“He’s a really great guy, I haven’t known him a long time, but he’s won me over pretty fast.” I smiled bigger.
“Well I’m glad, but I still want to meet him, when’s your date?” He asked.
“He said that he would be here at about 5:30.”
“Well, that’s about ten minutes away. Go get all doll-ed up.”
“I already did, I don’t want to look like I’m trying so hard.”
“Well, you don’t need to try to get anyone.” He said, making me feel weird since it was from my dad and we never talked about boys in anyway.
“Okay dad, I know. He’ll be here any time now, so I’m gonna go fix my makeup and get my shoes on before he gets here.” I said as I walked up the stairs to my bedroom.
I got to my room, got my shoes on and looked out the window to see that Parker was just driving down the street. I ran down stairs and said goodbye to my parents.
He rang the knocked on the door, and I waited extra long, hoping to not seem like I was waiting for him to come. Even though I was.
“Hey Parker, wanna come in for a second while I get my bag?” I smiled as I opened the door.
“Hi Addison, sure.” He laughed as I led him inside.
“I’ll be just a second.” I said as I hurried up my stairs.
I hurried to get Parker out of my house so my dad didn’t interrogate him like he did when Eric and I started dating. I’m not sure if Parker and I will start dating, but I can only hope!
He looked so adorable tonight. He was wearing a light blue plaid shirt with dark jeans. He looked amazing. He had his hair like he had just ran his hands through it and that look worked for him.
I went back down the stairs to see him looking at the embarrassing old pictures my family had hung up in the front room.
“Those pictures are so embarrassing! I’ve tried getting my parents to take them down, but they won’t.” I laughed, trying to get him to stop looking.
“Nah, I have worse ones at my house, of course, mine aren’t hanging up but they’re definitely a lot worse than yours.” He said making me feel better about my embarrassing pictures.
“Well I doubt that, and I’m sure that mine are way worse. But you’ll have to show me and I can decide for myself whose are worse.” I smiled.
“I guess that could work. Should we get going?” He asked.
“Yeah, I’m ready whenever you are.” I said as I walked away from the wall of embarrassing pictures.
We walked out of my house and then he drove us to his house. We never had a dull moment in our conversation.
