I Don't, Say No To This\\ Marliza

Chapter 11

:Johns POV:
John had seen Maria run off. And was genuinely curious about why.

He excused himself, claiming he had just got a text of a family emergency to Alex, but also not to worry when his boyfriend insisted on coming with him.

By some miracle of Zeus, John managed to leave alone, and followed Maria as non-creepily as possible.

John was not an A+ student, he never was, but it wasn't hard to see Maria wasn't doing well.

He sat down next to her when she went into the bar. He ordered just water. Because water is healthy or something.

"Hi." He spoke

Apparently he'd scared Maria because she jumped slightly before apparently she either recognized John, or simply didn't think he was a threat.

"What?" Maria grumbled, apparently not in the mood to talk.

John smiled lightly, waving at the bartender when he got his drink. "Nothing." John realized how weird that sounded, considering as far as Maria knew he just creepily followed her here- which was true- but she thought it was for no reason. "You looked upset when you left, i got curious."

Maria raised an eyebrow skeptically and scoffed. "Do you hear yourself and how creepy you sound?"

"Im sorry."

Maria rolled her eyes. "No your not. Why do you even care?" She sneered, a little more upset now. "What? Did Alex say he wasn't 'ready right after Eliza' too? I saw the way you to acted with each other, i can tell you're together..."

John opened his mouth to reply. Nothing came out though, he wasn't sure what to say.

:Marias POV:
Maria was beyond frustrated. Her girlfriend basically just broke up with her because she 'wasn't ready' apparently. In hindsight that was fair- it had been less than a week since Eliza and Alex broke up. Still Maria couldn't help but feel cheated.

She looked at John skeptically as she waited for a response. Though she doubted Alex wasn't ready like Eliza. John would get his happy ending while Eliza tried to get over Alex. It wasn't fair.

"I mean— no..." John seemed to hesitant before replying. "But you have to understand that Eliza went through something that made her break up with Alex—"

"I know!" Maria exclaimed loudly, realizing John didn't know it was her involved in the affair. It was karma really- the fact she couldn't have Eliza- it was her fault. "I deserve this.. its my fault..." Maria mumbled.

John only returned a confused look. "What?"

Maria took a deep breath, taking a sip of her beer (which is only for those over 21 smh) as she explained everything to John. She hated the story though it was nice to vent.

Afterwards John seemed to think for a long while, taking a sip of his water (which is for all ages) before speaking. "Does Eliza know?"

Maria nodded silently.

:Johns POV:
John shook his head at her. "Just... be a friend..." he suggested quietly- though he knew it was easier said than done. He'd experienced the same feeling with Alex- being in love but knowing he couldn't have them. He did now though, so hopefully that served as hope for Maria.

"Be there for her." John said. "Go back- apologized and say you'll be there to support her till she's ready again."

Maria nodded again. "Thank you..." she mumbled. "I'll go tonight..."

Smh chapter 11! I've low key forgotten how to write though, but i hope this is passable!
