This is the third book in the "Unapologetically Me" series. If you want to understand the Trey and Chanel dynamic better I suggest you read "Unapologetically Me" and "A Silenced Gift" first.

In the first two books, we see that Chanel Henderson is a care-free spirit who has no interest in being in love or settling down. She's very private about her personal life and marches to the beat of her own drum. She is comfortable in her own skin and sexually free. If she wants to have unattached sex with someone she does it and doesn't care what anyone thinks, including her best friends, Autumn Allen and Fatima Ward.

Meeting Tremaine Neverson for her was only supposed to be a fantasy come true. She never imagined that they would keep going back for more and more. Whenever she's tried to stop, she finds herself in bed with him again. It's the pressure from her family, society, and her girls that forces her to want more than just sex. She decides to try a normal relationship and is enjoying one with Troy Warren. Problem is, even though Trey knows all about Troy and her new relationship he's not ready to let her go that easy and he also doesn't want to be in a relationship or settle down. Chanel will have to figure out "what's best for her" if she hopes to find true happiness. Will she able to? Will Trey let her? Is a relationship even what she wants?

The title of this story is a play off of his hit, What's Best For You. In actuality, he really doesn't want what's best for her, he wants what's best for Trey.

Chanel is living in D.C. working as an Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist for the Department of Defense. Now that Fatima is happily settled in her new life in New Jersey, this story will follow Chanel as she makes new friends and tries to navigate the tricky waters of dating.

This story is more about Chanel's journey than it is a Trey Fanfic. While writing the other two books I recognized that their conflict could make for a good story. Trey just happened to be the person who could make it come together. This won't reflect on his singing career as it will focus on a man who is selfish and in that selfishness, does what he wants to get what he wants. I want to tackle the age old question. Can men and women just have sex without ever getting emotionally attached? (I'm not covering any of his recent issues or legal stuff. I'm painting a different narrative for him).

⚠️Chanel is not Fatima! If you are expecting to read a story similar to Fatima's, you should turn around. There will be a lot more sex, a lot of really bad decisions, and some horrible things said about women. Chanel will do a lot of things that we as women (or our patriarchal society in general will frown upon). Trey and Chanel's situation was built on a foundation of sex, it was never meant to go anywhere so don't expect a Fatima or Jaren love story either. If that's okay with you then proceed.⚠️

Trey Songz / Tremaine Neverson

I'm working on the first chapter, it's not ready and probably won't be until tomorrow. I just miss you guys so much that I wanted to get started (in the midst of everything else I have my hands in).
