"They say all those who gives up loses. But always remember that not all that keeps going wins." ~ Jones Mason
MAXIE'S POV
"Mason!" Sophia said her eyes filled with admiration.
Mason. Mason. Mason. Mason. Mason.
That name.. it's really really familiar.
I looked into that person's eyes. The man's eyes, they are so different yet so familiar. His eyes were stormy grey, staring back at me with an emotion of.. familiarity? Staring at each other I tried to remember everything, was he ever a part of my life? Who is he?
When a familiar silvery grey eyed boy appeared in my mind a piercing pain came to my head. All the unknown memories made my head ache. Once again I looked into his worried eyes and the pain in my head turned into something more agonizing.
A velvety black frames my vision, but not before I heard a silvery grey eyed guy say my name.
I awaited for the hard ground to hit me, but instead I fell in somebody's arms, I felt safe.
And darkness finally covered everything.
MASON'S POV
Maxie.
Of all the years I spent avoiding her this is where we end up meeting again.
She looks up at me trying to remember who I am, but no matter how painful it is that she can't remember me, deep inside my heart I know it's for the best.
Then suddenly Maxie's face turn pale. Oh no this can't be happening right now. She massaged her temples to try to ease the pain, but then she looked at me one more time and cried in agonizing pain.
"Hey Ma-- you okay?" I said almost saying her name.
I knew it. I knew I shouldn't have came here. I knew I was going to meet her, but me being the selfish person I am wanted to see her from afar. I should've been smart to know what pain she'll go through if she sees me.
"Maxie!" I shouted as she fell into my arms.
"Hey Maxie, I'm here! Sophi--" A guy said his happy mood changing right away when he saw Maxie in my arms.
"Maxie! Maxie! Hey!" He said as he took Maxie from my arms and tried shaking her to wake her up.
"I'll call 911." I said right away fishing my phone out of my pocket.
After a few minutes of waiting the ambulance came and right away rushed her to the hospital.
******
I walked down the corridors of the hospital and I couldn't stop thinking 'bout her. This is all my fault! This couldn't have happened if I didn't meet her.
"Mase.. Do you think Maxie will be alright?" Sophia said tears forming in her eyes. "Yes, Sophie. I'm sure she'll be alright." I replied with a reassuring smile.
I hope so.
The guy from before came trudging in with a frown on his face.
"Umm.. So I called Maxie's parents and they're on their way." He said eyeing me carefully.
"Okay."
"So you are?" He asked looking at me all the way from the top til' the bottom.
"I'm Mason. Mason Jones." I said with a smile.
