CAMERON'S POV

Lately I've been occupied with Tina, and I also notice that my friendship with Maxie is slowly drifting apart. I will never let my friendship with Maxie end just because of a girl that I know isn't really worth my love. I promised him that I will protect Maxie and that I will always be with her.

This past days Tina had been very clingy and I do not like it, even a bit. And of course I saw the sneaky glares she threw at Maxie. I don't know what's going on between them, but sooner or later I'm going to find out.

It's lunch and I saw Maxie walking to her locker. She looked as if she was on deep thoughts. She's been ignoring me lately and had been spending more time with that new kid Josh.

I walked towards her but she was too busy thinking 'bout something that she didn'r realize my presence.

"Helloooo??? Maxieee!" I said trying to catch her attention.

Still occupied with her own thoughts, Maxie ignored me.

  "MAXIEEEE!" 

"Oh. Hey!" She said offering me a half-hearted smile. Something's definitely wrong!

"What's wrong?" I said with a worried expression. 

  "Nothing. Just remembering the things that happened here since junior year." She said with a small smile.

Just as she said that all the memories came flashing back. Starting from junior year til' now.

But there is one particular memory that I will always remember, but Maxie might not remember. A memory about a guy who left a big void in our hearts. The guy that left Maxie and I. The guy who loved Maxie more than anything. The guy that was too afraid to confess his love.

MAXIE'S POV

After lunch my subjects passed by in a blur. I was walking down the hallway, on the way to the parking lot to meet Josh. But then I heard voices. Both voices were familiar and right away I knew who it was.

Tina and Cam.

They sounded like they were in the middle of an argument. I didn't want to bother them anymore. I'm done. New start remember?

I walked to my parking lot and saw Josh leaning over my car. I grinned at him and waved with my remaining energy.

"Pfft. You're such a drama queen."

I rolled my eyes at my conscience. You know I think my conscience is my #1 hater!

I'm glad I'm friends with Josh. Someone whom I could open up to even though I just met him for like a week I guess. Well, don't get me wrong. It's not like I don't open up to my squad but I've got this feeling that if I open up to Josh everything would be okay. That I'm safe. It's not like I have a feelings for Josh but I just consider him somewhat like a older brother, you know? 

"Hey Max." Josh said smiling showing off his dimples again.

"I hate you. I hate you and your dimples." I said glaring at him with a small smile paying in my lips.

" Well Hello to you too." He said winking.

"Weirdo."

"Creep."

"Alien."

"Monkey."

"Hot dog"

"Woah.. You do know that you just called me hot right? A Hot dog!" Josh said laughing.
