Nona
I am so happy to tell Stephen about the phone call I just got. HE'S GONNA PLAY NEXT GAME! I can't wait! I already bought the girls' tickets. I think I'm more excited than he'll be. I just wanna see my baby play again.
I heard the door creak and I assumed it was Stephen and Lolo. Riley was sleep in my room. I smiled, and turned around seeing their heads peeking through the door. Lolo giggled and ran into my arms.
"Auna!" She smiled.
"Hi, baby. Did you have fun with your Uncle?"
She nodded and hugged me again. "Auna, can I wake Riley up?"
"Not yet, baby. Riley got sick last night and couldn't sleep. So I've been giving her tea. She just went to sleep." I explained.
I looked up at Stephen, who was smiling at me a little.
"Hi, Scotty."
"Hi, Dell. Did you enjoy your week?"
"Unlike any other!" He smiled wide.
"Well I have something to tell you."
I really had more than one thing to tell him but... the other one had to wait because I wasn't ready.
"Okay, what is it?"
"Well..." I said smiling at him. "You're good to play. You'll be playing next game!"
He jumped up with excitement before hugging me. "That's great!"
Then Riley started to whine.
"Oh come here champ." He said picking her up. "What's wrong huh?"
"She's had a stomach ache for about 2 days. She's miserable. I would've given her something but... I don't know what you would do."
He sighed and shook his head.
"Who is she crying for all the time, calling Mommy?"
I shrugged. I didn't want to say me cuz... that'd sound like i thought to highly of myself. And I didn't want to say that I don't know because... she calls me Mommy all the time.
"You. The answer is you. She's yours and mines. Just because you didn't birth her doesn't mean you don't know how to take care of her." He scolded.
I looked down with a frown. "Okay. You're right."
"Baby, what's wrong? You're acting different."
"Just leave it alone, Dell. I'm going to sleep."
And with that, I went into the room and fell asleep.
Dell
I got up earlier than usual to make my girls some breakfast. Once the food was done, Loren was the first to come downstairs.
"Hi uncle." She said with a cheeky smile.
"Hey ladybug." I smiled, giving her her plate.
She thanked me and ate her food.
"Uncle I'm going to school today." She cheered.
"And why you so happy?"
"Cuz Jeremy gonna be there!" Riley teased coming down the stairs with Nona.
"And who the hell is Jeremy?" I asked.
"Some boy she likes. He gave her chocolate on Valentines. She's been hooked ever since." Nona said bluntly.
"Well y'all better not be holdin hands!" I scolded.
Nona chuckled and sat down.
"Babe, what's wrong? You look sick."
"I'm fine."
"But-."
"Why can't you ever just believe what I say? I said what I said. I'm fine." She said before going into the bathroom.
"I think she's sad." Lolo said.
"Why mama sad, Dada?" Riley started to tear up.
I told her everything was okay and went to check on Nona.
"Scotty wassup? You got us worried."
"Just give me a minute... please." She said. She sounded like she was crying.
"Baby, what's the matter? I got you just please..."
"Mama... mama pwease come outside. My tummy hurt again." Riley said, from behind me.
Scotty opened the door and picked Riley up.
"Have you gone number 2 today?" Nona asked her.
Riley shook her head.
"What about yesterday?"
Riley shook her head again.
"Oh mama's honeybun is constipated."
Nona took a glass of water and mixed it with some type of powder.
"Here, drink this."
Riley did what she was told and laid on Nona's shoulder.
"Mommy, I'm sleepy." She says.
Nona took her into her room and tucked her in bed. She came back down, sat on the couch and started watching tv. Lolo looked at me with sympathy before going to sit with Nona to watch tv. I sighed and shrugged. I sat on the opposite couch. Whatever's bothering her, I hope she gets through it... fast!
