Chapter 3

Kadience's POV

"I have paired you all up . You will work with who I assigned you with , there is to be no switching . You are to pick an element off of the periodic table and give 10 characteristics-" Mrs.Anderson said . She went on I stopped listening to her a long time ago . I kept checking my phone to see if Jay would text me . He didn't show up to school today and after I heard Someone demanding him to come here I couldn't help but think the worst . When I asked Jazmine about him she assumed that I liked him , which I did kinda but I wouldn't tell her .

"What element do you want to do ?" Asked this girl sitting in this chair beside me . She was a pretty red bone with long red hair and yes it was all hers , I asked . She was a lil thick , not thicker than me thoo and she had a pretty smile and wore glasses .

"Helium I guess ." I said getting the stuff ready for us to do this project .

"Ohh my name is Karma by the way ."

"I'm Kadience nice too meet you ."

She giggled . "You're so proper ." She said pulling her laptop out her bag opening up power point . I laughed along with her , this whole time I thought I was ghetto .

"Ohh you don't mind if we do a power point do you ?" She had already typed up slide one and two so why the hell not ?

"Nahh I don't mind ."

Me and Karma kicked if off real good . By the end of class I had told her my story when I used to live back in Brooklyn and how much I missed my bitch Katia and how I planned on going back after I graduated . "You're from Brooklyn ?" She asked me enthusiastically .

"Yeaa ." I said typing up the last slide .

"I'm from Queens . I think I remember you .That party . Tre party , yeaa I remember you . Girl you can twerk." She said laughing .

Is everybody in this school from New York or remembers me from Tre party ? That was my first and last party . And damn right I could twerk , just like a stripper . I laughed so hard and loud people started to look at us like I was interrupting them . "I remember you now . How you know Tre ?"

"Tre Is my cousin and Every time he has a party he calls me and my brother Jay to come thru , but I don't think I'm going to any more of Tre parties cause that last one . A bitch was running for her life trying to dodge bullets and shit."

"Wait what Jay ? My Jay ? ... Not my Jay , But Jay ?" I said slapping myself across the head for claiming this nigga in front of his sister . I swear everybody was related to this nigga .

"Tall , light skin , hazel eyes ,and muscular?" Yasss ! That was Jay .

"Yea he your brother ?"

"Well he's not my blood brother but we real close . Jay doesn't have any siblings ."

"What about Jazmine ?"

"Jazmine isn't his sister either same thing we all grew up together . We've been knowing each other since kindergarten... Well jayden and I have known each other since kindergarten. We met Jazmine and Jalin in like what? 4th grade I think. Why you asking so many questions bout him ? You like him or something ?" She asked smiling at me . I couldn't help but blush .

"No ." I said looking away from her .

"Yes you do . It's ok , I won't tell . I prefer you to be with him anyways rather than these other fishy ass bitches in this school ." Just then the bell rung for us to get out of school . "But anyways girl kik me . I'll see you tomorrow ."

When I got home Jay was sitting on the step of my front porch . When I finally reached him he had a black eye and a busted lip . "What happen?" I said running up to him kissing his face . I didn't even give him time to answer before I unlocked the door and pulled him inside my house . I didn't know if my mother was here or not but if she was I would sure enough get and ass whooping but I didn't care . That was one ass whooping I wouldn't mind getting I was helping my man . I pulled out the bar stool and made him sit in it . I got a paper towel and wet it with water to wipe the cut on his lip . He just smiled and laughed at me . "Why are you laughing ?" I said still wiping blood from his lip .
