Chapter 6

Kadience's POV

"I'm sorry." I said almost crying .

"It's ok , we never had a good relationship anyways.." He said playing with the diamond necklace I had on . "Soooo... How long is your mom going to be gone?"

"A while . I think she's coming back Sunday." I said tracing his tattoo with my finger. When I looked up at him he was just staring at the ceiling. "You ok ?"

"Yah I'm fine , just thinking." He said kissing my cheek.

"About what ? I wanna know."

"About life , my future . Shit like that." He had both of his hands behind his head with his legs crossed . Me , I had my leg thrown over both of his and had my head resting on his chest .

"I guess that's a good thing to think about." I said "I wanna go back to New York , Become a author and open a place to help kids with dyslexia and tutor them probably. "

"What about marriage ?" He said looking down at me .

"I don't know . I wanna get married but then I don't . I feel like you put all that money into a wedding only to get divorced a few years later . And you can't get a refund." Jay bursted out in laugher , I didn't see what was so funny I was dead ass serious.

"That's what you're worried about ? You're money ?" He asked laughing once again .

"I mean not only that . I don't cope well with a broken heart . When I love , I love hard . And I don't want anyone to break me or hurt me. That's why I'm not hesitant about relationships, I don't want to fall in love but I feel myself going down that road with you." I said.

"So what are you saying Kadience ?" He asked looking down at me .

"Just don't hurt me please. Even if you're thinking about cheating-"

"I would never cheat on you Kadience , you're all that anyone could ever ask for . I don't wanna see no other nigga with my girl . I like what we have and I don't plan on losing it anytime soon." He said kissing my forehead.

That night I fell asleep in his arms and when I woke up I was still laying in his warm embrace. I cooked breakfast for the both of us and made us late to school . I didn't care though it was my first time being late , what were they going to do call my mom ?

"Why yo ass ain't make it to school on time ?" My mom yelled into my phone . I was sitting in the booth at lunch with Jazmine , Jay , Jalin . Karma and Emoni.

"I woke up late I was trying to get my homework done and I couldn't do it earlier because Ashley was late picking up Kaden." I was lying straight through my teeth . If my mom knew I was chilling with a nigga in her house by myself my ass would be hers for real.

"Mhmm yo ass sound like you lying." She said I could sense her rolling her eyes at me .

"Ok well I have to go the bell is about to ring." I said lying once again.

"Ok chile bye." With that I hung up the phone .

"Why you lie to her ? You could have just told her you was chilling with me." Jay said laughing.

"Helll no . She is crazy."

"Wait y'all two was chilling together?" Emoni said pointing at me and Jay.

"Yes."

"Damn just go out already." She said biting her French frie.

"We do." Jay said winking at me.

"WHAT ?! YOU AINT TELL ME ?" Emoni said yelling causing people to look at us. I hate being the center of attention.

"Damn Emoni . I was planning on it."
