It was a good day to play at the park nearby my apartment today. So I decided to ask Jungkook, my boyfriend if he could join me or not.
"Hey, are you busy now, babe?" I asked him through the phone call.
"Nope, why? You wanna go to the park today?" he replied to me with a calm voice, which of course I loved.
"You guessed it right, so is it a yes?" I asked back hopefully.
"Maybe no babe, sorry, my lecturer just gave me a ton of assignments and they need to be done by tomorrow," he replied, sighing.
"Well, it's okay. Goodluck, Kook," I said and ended the call, feeling disappointed.
I went to my room and got ready. Just because Jungkook couldn't go, didn't mean that I have to ditch this beautiful and perfect weather.
After I finished getting ready, I went out and walked to the park. Along the way, the cold yet warm breeze hit my face, relaxing my mind.
If only Jungkook was here, it would be perfect.
I ignored the thought and continued walking until I reached the park. There wasn't a lot of people here, just a small family having a picnic and a few people strolling and jogging. There were also small shops that sell and rent outdoor equipments for the people to play and a few others that sell food and drinks.
I saw a few kids flying their kites and that reminded me of the moment when I first met Jungkook.
🍁
I was trying to play a kite that I had rented earlier but flying it properly was indeed a struggle. I almost threw the kite away before I saw a boy approaching me.
"That's not the way to fly a kite, silly girl."
He said, taking my kite and chuckling at me. That made me mad.
"Shut up, you... you idiot stranger, give me back my kite!" I tried to take my kite back but failed.
"Let me just show you how to fly it, alright?" he said after I stopped trying.
"Fine, but if I still can't fly it, I will cut your hands off," I said, glaring at him. He only chuckled.
He then took my hand and guided me properly. Weirdly, his hands were warm and... comfortable.
After a few times trying, I finally succeeded in flying the kite.
"Um.. thanks for helping me and... sorry for being rude to you just now," I said slowly, lowering my head, cheeks tinted red.
"It's okay, I understand. Sorry too for my behaviour earlier. I was just teasing you, you were cute by the way. Still are," I blushed hard at his last words.
He ruffled my hair.
"I'm Jeon Jungkook." he said.
"I'm Jiyeon. Choi Jiyeon. Can I um... can we exchange number?" I nervously fidgeted my fingers, anticipating.
"Sure, cutie," he winked and took my phone.
He typed something on my phone and gave it to me. Before he left, I swear I could see him smiling widely.
I looked at my phone and blushed.
soon-to-be-lover
That was the name he saved.
🍁
I chuckled to myself as the flashback crossed my mind.
Bored of doing nothing, I decided to rent a kite just for fun. Because of the crowded place, I brought my kite a little bit far from the other kids and tried flying it.
I've been trying to fly it for god knew how much but the kite never seemed to command! I just slumped myself on the grass, feeling annoyed. The weather was nice but unfortunately, the kite loved to tease me.
"Still struggling to fly a kite?" I almost jumped at the voice.
I looked at the source of the voice and immediately stood up, grinning happily.
"Kookie!" I exclaimed, running and jumping at him.
He laughed and hugged me back. We pulled away.
"I thought you couldn't come," I frowned.
He pecked my lips.
"Well, I wouldn't just let my girl stroll around the park by herself. Who knows which man might steal her," He stated, making me blush a little. I cleared my throat and hit his chest.
"Well, you still disappoint me for not coming earlier," I pouted.
He chuckled and squeezed my cheeks.
"Well, angel. Will you forgive me if I help you fly that kite?" He raised a brow and I immediately beamed.
"Deal."
Again, he took my hands and guided me. His chest was so close to my back that I could feel the rise and fall of his chest. He was leaning his chin on top of my head while moving my hand smoothly until the kite finally flew. Well, of course we ran first before that. How do you even fly a kite without running?
After a few minutes, my renting ended. I gave the kite to the renter back and we just strolled around the park quietly, enjoying the weather.
"Do you remember our second date?" Jungkook suddenly spoke.
I thought back and nodded.
"Yeah, it was here, right?" I replied. "Why do you ask?"
"Do you remember what we did here, under this tree?"
I looked around, not realising we have stopped walking and were now standing under a beautiful tree. The leaves and flowers that scattered around and under it adding to its beauty.
"Do you remember when I did this?" I looked at Jungkook and gasped when he suddenly pulled me and kissed me. The kiss was hard but sweet at the same time.
I wrapped my arms around Jungkook's neck while his around my waist. Jungkook pulled me closer till there was no more space between us.
Then we finally pulled away. We were still hugging each other, gazing at the other's eyes, not wanting to look away.
Jungkook leaned in, our nose touching.
"I love you, Jungkook," I whispered.
Jungkook smiled.
"I love you too, my angel," After that, we kissed again, not giving a care to the public eyes that were staring at us.
In that moment, nothing else was perfect. Nothing else mattered. It was just us. Jungkook and I.
And our beautiful love story.
