Who would've thought that the sweet couple of the acting industry was actually fake-dating each other, both trying to hide their secrets. One was for the feeling of guilt and another one was because of their past. There's only one word we could describe them as...
FAKE
The chant of JungHye could be heard as they both walked through the airport, holding each other's hand. A lot of bodyguards were hired to keep them safe as there were lots of people trying to get to them.
They could only smile, looking at the fans that supported them. Of course the fans didn't know. In their eyes, Jungkook and Hyejun were probably the sweetest couple on earth. And that really went according to their plan.
As they both reached the car, they got in and released a breath of relief. Fake dating was very hard after all.
Soon, their manager got in the car and drove them to their apartment. Along the way, it was quiet. Almost awkward actually.
"You guys are so weird. Most couple would call each other by pet names like baby or something, but you guys just call each other with your names. I don't even know how your fans think you're sweet," their manager, Jaewon suddenly spoke, breaking the silence.
Way to increase the awkward tension, man.
Hyejun thought as she faked a smile, not knowing what to say. Jungkook just chuckled.
"That doesn't matter. At least we are in love," he said, slipping his hand around Hyejun's waist and pulled her closer.
Jaehwon just rolled his eyes. Yes, even he didn't know their secrets.
After they reached their apartment, they took an elevator to their room. Before getting in, their manager stopped them.
"I have an important business to attend to. You guys should go get some rest first," he stated and they both nodded, already feeling the tiredness seeping into them.
"You can use the bathroom first. I need to call someone," Jungkook said once they were in their apartment and went to his room, not forgetting to lock it.
Hyejun quietly sighed and went to her own room. She did realize of the fact that Jungkook was a womanizer and that he only dated her to cover his playboy reputation from the public. She too had to agree for she wanted to hide her ugly past. Her father was a gambler while her mother was forced to be a stripper to earn more money for the debts her father had made. Her brother? He left them all a long time ago. He didn't want anything to do with them at all.
Jungkook and Hyejun were best friends, so Jungkook knew all about her past. With Jungkook's brilliant idea, a perfect fake relationship was formed.
Even though Hyejun looked fine when she first agreed, she was deeply tortured inside. She'd had feelings for Jungkook for a long time now. She loved him... more than a friend. She knew if she confessed to Jungkook, he would've just laughed as though she was joking. With this relationship, she really wished for Jungkook to grow feelings for her but it never happened.
In real world, Jungkook was also an actor. It was easy for him to just act as though they were deeply in love. And Hyejun had to pretend as if she wasn't hurt, as if she wasn't jealous of Jungkook with someone else because deep inside, she knew that their friendship would turn awkward if Jungkook knew about her feelings for him.
Jungkook never wanted a serious relationship. He wanted to enjoy his life first by playing with girls' hearts. Sometimes, Hyejun pretended as if all the sweet things Jungkook did to her in public was real but all her hopes shattered when the next day, she would see a random girl walking out of Jungkook's bedroom, shirt wrinkled and hair messy. And that hurt her more than anything. These days, her smiles were always fake. It has been long since she last smiled a genuine smile.
Was it wrong for her to wish that one day, Jungkook will fall for her? Was she not good enough for Jungkook? Was there something she lack of for Jungkook to not love her back?
There wasn't a day without these questions bugging her mind. Their fake relationship was killing her slowly inside and out. She was in pain, but she knew that deep inside, she had to be strong.
After cleaning herself, Hyejun knocked on Jungkook's door to tell him she had finished showering but received no response. She tried his doorknob and surprisingly, it wasn't locked. She slowly opened his door and saw him sleeping soundly on his bed. She then walked to the side of his bed and sat down. She pat Jungkook's hair, smiling sadly. Jungkook always slept like the dead so she wasn't worried that she would wake him up. A tear suddenly rolled down Hyejun's cheek. She wiped it away and leaned down, kissing his forehead. Then, she left.
Jungkook, who was just pretending to sleep all along felt confused.
Did she... just kiss my forehead?
He thought and touched his forehead, where the feeling of Hyejun's lips lingered. His heart was beating faster than usual. He had never felt this way before.
He tried to ignore it and went to take a shower. It was weird. Hyejun had never done this kind of thing before. And somehow, whenever he looked into her eyes, only sadness filled them.
After putting on some decent clothes, Jungkook walked out of his room and saw Hyejun on the couch, unconscious to the world. He walked closer to her and stared at her. He then leaned down to kiss her forehead when suddenly his phone rang. He sighed and answered the call.
"Hey, what's up?" he said.
A while after that, he took his car keys, his cap and his black mask before walking out and shut the door behind him. The loud sound woke Hyejun up. She immediately rose from the couch and tried looking for Jungkook but there was no sign of him.
She laughed bitterly. She knew it. Jungkook went out again. And this time, it was with her bestfriend. Choi Yoonhyeon, a famous supermodel who was way better than her.
Tears rolled down Hyejun's cheeks. She didn't bother to wipe it because now she realised.
She was just one of Jungkook's plaything. Nothing more and nothing less.
