Chapter Seven

I spread my senses and tried finding Naruto again. From what I could guess he was in a fight…no! No, that was impossible! I felt it like it happened to me and I knew he was battling Uncle Orochimaru and he placed the Five Elements Seal on him. Naruto collapsed and I emptied my guts, feeling the whole impact. It’s come this far! I had to hurry, but when I stood up, my knees shook and I had to sit back down. Kabut sure did his job of stalling. Come on Lily, you have to get up. I poured enough will into my feet and I was off again, sensing Naruto’s faint chakra. He was still alive, but just barely.

When I arrived, I swear to god I could hear his thoughts, “I must survive in order to kill my brother.”

But it was a trap. I lunged, landing in front of him and intercepting the snake.

“Leave him alone, creep,” I said, trying to mimick Sasuke’s voice when he helped me out earlier. I turned around to him and said, “Get Naruto and go! This is far beyond you!”

“Lily…NO! I’m done running!”

“Idiot, just…argh!”

A tongue wrapped around me and lifted me off the ground. No not, this time. I pulled out my kunai, willing to cut it off but he dropped me before I could. To prevent myself from falling, I summoned a huge white snake myself, so we were staring eye to eye now.

“My, my, did they fail already,” Uncle Orochimaru said with amusement.

“Well, I was trained by the best, Uncle.”

“Uncle?” both Sasuke and Sakura said at the same time.

“Well, you don’t choose your family.”

“You!” Sasuke said, suddenly really angry. “All this time, you’ve been lying to us!”

“No, until earlier I didn’t even know. Now listen, you can hate me later! Right now, you gotta get out of here!”

“You’re a traitor! And to think…!”

Shut up and get out of here, idiot, I said you can hate me later!”

“Well,” Uncle Orochimaru interrupted, “This has been interesting enough. Lily, I shall test what you have learned since you agreed not to visit.”

“Hey, that one’s on you! You’re the one who tried to throw me in Forever Lake!”

“You wouldn’t have to be here if you went through with the process,” he said simply.

I had enough. I knew snakes wouldn’t do much damage so I had to rely mostly on... Surpass it, Shishou said, You don’t need it. but against Uncle Orochimaru, I did need it.

“Let’s see what that fool taught you,” Uncle said and attacked with his snake. I made mine disappear and ran up the tree trunk. But a few strings surprised me when I suddenly found myself tied to a tree trunk. In my attempt to stop Uncle Orochimaru I totally forgot Sasuke was still pissed at me. And he gave Uncle a perfect opening. I panicked and my Basilisk eye went on protect-mode. My entire eye turned back but instead of Uncle Orochimaru, his snake exploded in thousands of bits. That took more out of me than I could normally bare but my sheer will to protect gave me the power again. I broke free and felt the demon’s power flow through me. No!

“My,” Uncle said, looking from me to Sasuke, who’s Sharingan was in action now. “Your power has grown, Lily, I am impressed. But snakes won’t work on me. Come on, Lily, I want to see your fire.”

Fire? He wanted to see fire? Fine, I’ll give him fire. I jumped up, waved the signs and yelled, “Great Fire Ball!” There you have it, my fire. As Uncle Oroshimaru emerged from the flames, his fake face started peeling off.
