Skylar's POV:
The last person who finally falls onto the net is dahlia, who soon takes on the name of Dia, which was actually a pretty smart idea. We are all quickly herded off to a small area, where a tall, good looking boy stands, his dark eyes dancing with playfulness, so I automatically feel at ease with him. "Heeeello. My name is Zeke." He says with a crooked grin. "Um, Four when he gets back... Will take the dauntless born initiates, while I'll take you faction transfers since Uriah hasn't shown up. Idiot. Well anyways... Right this way, Newbies!" We follow him, I butting my way to the front, trying to get a good view of what was to come next. Zeke unlocks a large iron door, and there is a room with many sets of bunk beds, dressers next to them, with black clothes falling out of the drawers, as they were sloppily stuffed in, like the person who had packed the dressers was in a rush. Branched off were two bathrooms. "Dinner's in 15 minutes. Dress in your welllll...dauntless appropriate clothing, and be down there. a'ight guys, see ya later." With that he leaves, and Dahlia and I grab a bunk, next to a erudite boy with glasses, and an erudite girl with a sleek ponytail;l. I meet eyes with them, and smile. "Hi. I'm Sky." The boy and girl both smile. The boy extends his hand, and I shake it. "I'm Jake., that's Anna." I incline my head to Dahl- Dia. "That's Dia." We agree to sit by each other at dinner, and I retreat to the dresser, finding all the shirts in my size. To show I am dauntless, and to totally leave abnegation behind, I grab a black tank top what shows a little of my stomach off. Then I pull a pair of tight fitting leggings out, and combat boots. The entire outfit screams dauntless. Anna comes up behind me with a stick of something like a pencil. "Here, try this." she says, and I let her line my eyes with them, making the green pop. She unclips my hair, and it falls to the small of my back in curls. "No." She says, shaking her head, plugs something into the wall, and runs it on my hair, which turns it straight. I touch it, gingerly, and recoil when it is hot. "Ouch!" I yowl, shaking my hand. "what, you never seen a straightener before?" She asks, shocked." I was abnegation. We don- they don't believe in vanity." She nods, tapping her chin. "Where's Dia?" I ask. "With my brother... He obviously likes her." She wrinkles her nose, her freckles standing out against her pale skin, and dark hair, worn straight, reaching to her ribs. she is also dressed in all black, and it occurs to me that she and Jake look similar. "You and Jake are siblings?" She nods. "My twin, yes." We exchange disgusted glances, and burst out laughing. she finishes straightening my hair, and I run a brush through it before quickly grabbing the scissors before I can change my mind. I cut in a straight line, my hair falling now only a little below my shoulders. Anna lets out an excited whoop, and we rush down to dinner, Dia, and Jake sprinting after us, all of us screaming, and running, cracking jokes, and laughing till we can't breathe. It's complete chaos. And I love it.
Uriah's POV
I sit at a table, awaiting the initiates that my brother had gotten earlier for me because of a combat mission in Amity which involved a shortage of peace serum... long story I don't have time for. The first four initates come in, their trays piled high, laughing and screaming... Look almost pure dauntless. I could pick out what each of their factions were from except one... A girl with straight brown hair, and green eyes. We meet eyes for a second, and her eyes flit away, my face heating up as I suddenly look down, too. I haven't felt this way since Marlene... Uriah stop. I reach for a flask, and take a swig, blocking those thoughts. Four grunts a hello to me, and motions for the four to sit. "hey Sky." He says to the green eyed girl. she nods her head to him with a courteous smile. Sky. Oh, man. the bus girl. How had I missed this? For the past hour this was all Four had went on about, though I kinda blocked it out, cuz I really didn't wanna hear about some random faction transfer Four had a crush on. Really, though. "Abnegation?" I ask her, shoveling dauntless cake into my mouth, while she picks up a hotdog, like she's never seen one- studying it. "Um... Yeah. I was born in abnegation. Too quiet, too kind, too selfless. I guess I always knew I wouldn't fit in. Conflict just finds me, I guess." She lets out a small giggle, and soon all of us are laughing. "she strangled a dauntless today!" Says a girl with long, dark brown hair. After the teasing, and laughs die down, I ask the question I should've asked at the beginning of dinner. "Hey? Any of you got names?" The girl with the dark hair, and Freckles talks first. "I'm Anna, that's my twin Jake. The stiff's Dia, and That's Sky." I nod, and look at them all, with a smile on my face. "Any of you interested on zip lining over the town?"
The pic is of Uriah. :)
