A/N: Jed's POV

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'This is it... I'm gonna be eliminated by the Fifth. Man, how dull can my death be.' I thought as I closed my eyes and waited for the guns aimed at me to fire at will.
After five dull minutes of waiting, I slowly opened my eyes. A strange man wearing a black shirt with a matching pair of jeans had the Fifth immobilized through the means of a submission hold.
"What the hell? W-who are you?!" I exclaimed as I stumbled down backwards. Who is this guy? Is he one of the Future Diary Holders too? Damn it.
The strange man shifted his gaze from the Fifth until he landed his eyes on me. Our eyes interlocked for what seemed to be a minute. Seeing the awkward situation I am in, I immediately averted my gaze towards the wall.
Feeling the tension increasing between the two of us, the man decided to break it off.
"Seems like I got here on time." The strange man stated as he knocked the Fifth unconscious.
"Umm... May I ask who the hell are you?" I asked. I do not know who this man is. Maybe some kind of murderer or something. Meh, I have to be so sure that he isn't some kind of psycho. Man, what a dull guy.
The man chuckled. "Why, if it isn't the Fourth! The Fifth's trying to kill you, eh? Hell he's one psycho, I tell you. He loves the scent of blood." The man walked towards me and extended his hand out.
"Let me help you there, buddy." He smiled. I reluctantly grabbed a hold of his hand as I stood up.
"Umm, thanks for saving me back there." I put on a small smile.
"Err.. don't mention it." The man scratched the back of his head sheepishly. Man, this guy's kinda weird.
"As I was saying, Who are you?" I asked him.
"I'm Anthony Endaya. Also known as The Eighth." He replied nonchalantly.
'Oh god. I-It's the EIGHTH!' I mentally screamed. I never expected to encounter the Eighth here.
 Little did I know, I was spacing out in front of the infamous detective, the Eighth!
I snapped back to reality when he waved a hand in front of my face.
"Hello! Earth to Fourth! Can ya hear me?" He exclaimed while waving a hand in front of me.
"H-huh? Oh sorry for spacing out." I laughed nervously as I rubbed the back of my head.
"Nah, it's fine." He dismissed the thought off with a wave of his hand as he started walking away.
I shouted. "W-wait for me, Eighth!" I followed him.
The Eighth whipped his head around as he stared at me with an eyebrow arched.
"What do you want, Fourth? A baby bottle or something?" The Eighth laughed at his own joke.
I sweatdropped. Is this guy REALLY the infamous detective called Eighth? Or is he an impersonator?
"Who are you and what have you done to Eighth?!" I exclaimed. Man, how dull can this guy be.
The Eighth raised his hands as if he was surrendering to the police. "Relax, Fourth! I'm the infamous detective, who is also known as the Eighth."
I snorted. "Oh really now? It doesn't seem like it." I crossed my arms over my chest.
"Hell yeah. I mean, who wouldn't acknowledge the existence of the legendary and infamous detective, right?" He laughed as he started walking.
Then again, I trailed off behind him. Man, this guy walks fast. I'm not sure if I can keep up with his pace.
We walked out of the building in silence, leaving the unconscious bodies of the Fifth and the two cops. Hey, don't go harsh on me. I'm not good at starting conversations.
As I was about to open my mouth, Eighth cut me off.
"So, have you killed anyone yet?" He asked.
I shook my head. "Nope, not a single one". I sighed.
 "Too bad, Fourth. I might end up killing you, after all." He chuckled menacingly.
My eyes widened at the statement. "A-are you serious, Eighth? But, I thought you were my ally..." I looked down. I don't think I can trust anyone from now on..
The Eighth burst into laughter. I sat there, a puzzled look plastered on my face. Was the Eighth messing with me? I cursed to myself.
"I was just kidding, Fourth. Man, you get riled up so easily." He nonchalantly shrugged.
"Oh, I see. Hahahaha." I nervously laughed as a I heard a 'Bzzt' coming from my [Dull Diary].
The Eighth stared at me as I flipped my phone open. "Oh goodie, a text message from the Second." I muttered as I read the message.
"Fourth, seems like you're spending some quality time with the Eighth, I presume?"
Oh fuck. How the hell did the Second find out? Is she some kind of stalker or something?
I texted her back.
"You got me, Second. Yeah, I am with Eighth. But, how the hell did you know?" I pressed 'Send'.
After a few seconds, I received a reply. Man, this woman's fast in typing!
"A woman's intuition, I guess." I rolled my eyes. A woman's intuition huh? Seems legit.
I was about to reply when I suddenly noticed Eighth giving me one of his suspicious stares. I quickly put the phone back into my pocket. Eighth's quite wary about me. He stares at me as if I was some kind of monster. I rubbed my nape sheepishly.
"Is something wrong, Eighth? You seem kinda wary about me. Did I do something you didn't like?" I asked him, nervously smiling.
"Hmm... do you have a girlfriend, Fourth? I froze. Eighth, the infamous, legendary and awesome detective, asked me a question out of the blue? Man, what a dull question.
"W-what are you talking about? I do not have a girlfriend." I scoffed. "Eighth, are you crazy? I highly doubt that a girl's gonna go gaga over me." I shrugged.
"You never know, Fourth. You might have a stalker or something." He shrugged as he gulped down his soda. Wait, where did he get his soda?
I snorted. "Gah! Why the hell are we talking about it anyway? It's not like it's of great importance, right?" I huffed.
"I was just fooling around, Fourth. Man, if I were your brother, I'd never get tired of making fun of you." He chuckled.
I sighed as I rolled my eyes. Man, I'm stuck with someone who likes messing with me. This is going to be a loooooooooooong day.
