It was a whole 24 hours before she called. I was at my desk, my fingers moving quickly across the keys, making up missed work. My phone rang and I quickly answered it.

"Hello?" My voice croaked, I was scared it was her Dad.

"Hey." She said.

I sighed in relief, "Thank God, what happened?"

"Nothing good, James. They yelled at me, said I couldn't talk to you. We got into a fight and I said they couldn't control who I see. I said that you were the only thing in this damn town I like and I wouldn't stay unless I could talk to you. They're still being asses but I can talk to you."

"Thank God." I sighed.

"Maybe we should hang out... away from my house." She laughed.

"Yeah." I smiled. "That'd be best."

"Okay. How about later tonight. Does 5 work?"

"yeah, of course." I said. "Where?"

Literally anywhere."

"Honestly lets go to Mcdonalds and call it good." I joked.

"I'm in. I'll see you then."

"See you then" I hung up. Her curtains had been drawn lately. I couldn't tell if she was even in her room, but I assumed that was her parent's doing.
