"Phil"
"Phil, wake up"

He opened his eyes reluctantly and the panic washed over his face.

"We're in London"

He straightened his back and rubbed he sleep out of his eyes. It was around 2am, but my jet lagged ass was wide awake.

We gathered our stuff just in time to leave the plane with everybody else, and not look like complete weirdos.

I stepped off the plane and into the tunnel that led into the airport, past sleepy passengers and grumpy children, until Phil turned around with a dazed expression. "Are you still wanting me to show you where your apartment is?" He asked. "Yea, if it's not too much trouble". He smiled, and I smiled back at him.

He called an Uber and before I knew it, we were driving on a different side of the road than what I was used too, in a city I wasn't used to. Neon signs lit up shop fronts, and I stared in amazement as Phil was getting closer and closer to passing out.

We arrived at a row of tall buildings that seemed to stretch all the way down the street. Phil unlocked the door of a pale white building, and held the door open for me. "This is it" my eyes went straight to the multiple flights of stairs in front of us. Phil, following my gaze said "oh, yea, you might need to get used to climbing Everest everyday, your on the top floor." Ugh.

Once we got to the top of the stairs, Phil pointed me towards my door, literally a metre away from his door. "That's it, I'll see you, okay?" "Thank you Phil". He smiled a sleepy smile at me, and I smiled back, before he entered his apartment, I started prodding the key hole with my key, trying to make it fit in pitch black darkness.
