It was Saturday.
Moving day.
By lunch time, dans old room was empty, and boxes were stacked tall in my hallway.
Dan came in with a big brown box, and set it down on one of the other piles.
"You know this is where everything went wrong" I pointed out. Referring to, last time dan moved in, I got a call from Adam.
My heart hurt at the thought, letting myself replay emotions that I had had when dan ran out that day, and again from when we actually broke up.
"Yes. But lightning never strikes in the same place twice"
He came over to me, holding his hands on the small of my back, and looking down at me.
"Have you considered growing" dan pointed out the distance between his head and my head.
"Fuck You" I said, glaring at him.
He leant down to kiss me, and he smiled that sweet smile at me.
He kissed me again, then let go of his arms around me to go help phil with another box.
My job was to unpack the boxes. I pulled out books after books after play station games after...inflatable dinosaur? And found a place to put them around the apartment.
"LAST ONE" dan yelled from the front door. He hobbled it into the bedroom, and sat it down at my feet.
"Done?" I asked, wanting to make sure.
"Fucking done". His voice was tired, strained. His eyes drifted down to my...well, his, hoodie.
"Is that my..." he started, but I cut him off.
"Me casa you casa" I said, smiling cheekily.
Dan picked me up from my waist and threw me gently onto the bed, getting on top of me, and kissing me deeply.
He broke away for a second.
"Punishment, is needed" he smirked, our faces inches apart.
"You two are so cute it almost makes me sick" phil came into the bedroom holding another box, and setting it down on top of another pile of boxes.
"Care to join phil?" Dan asked sarcastically.
"No" Phil replied, shocked at dans words. A rose colour flooded his cheeks.
"Well then get the fuck out" dan said, laughing, and waiting for phil to leave.
He turned back to me, and I laughed.
"You have the most beautiful laugh"
"You have the most beautiful face" I replied, and dan laughed back.
