chapter nine

Deidara's Pov 

        Finally we are back. That was a stupid mission, we just had to assassinate some old guy and Sasori didn't even let me make any art. As we entered the hideout we noticed that it was dead silent 'what the heck it is never quiet here. Sasori started to walk down the halls to leader-sama's office but stopped short making me bump into him. "Ow what the hell was that for Sasori un." I said getting up.

        Once I was up I noticed that he was looking straight ahead so I followed his gaze and saw everyone crowded around a door. Walking up to them I looked in and saw Scarlett curled up in a ball on the bed. "Oh god. Scarlett are you ok?" I shouted running forward only to have many hands grab me and pull me back. "Let me go I have to see what is wrong." 

        "Deidara stop we can't get in the room, every time we try it electrocutes us."

        "Wait, what?" that could only mean she is trying to heal herself.

        "I went to go and change her bandages again and when I stepped threw the door I was shocked and pushed back. Everyone else tried but the same thing happened to them." Konan said 

        "Who hurt her?" I asked my eyes stinging with unshed tears.

        "That's just the thing I was fighting her and all of a sudden she looked like she was in pain then just fainted. When we got her inside we noticed she had cuts all over her back but I did not touch her."

        Sighing I took a step forward only to have them grab me again. "It's fine it does not effect me."

        When they let go I walked over to the bed, sat down, put Scarlett's head in my lap, and started to stroke her hair. "Scarlett it is ok now, you can let the barrier down I will not let them hurt you, nor do they want to hurt you un." The barrier slowly dissipated and I told the others they could come in. 

        "Why was there a barrier?" Leader-sama said sitting on the floor in front of me.
        "She was trying to heal herself and put it up for protection. Scarlett did not know if she could trust you fully, therefor she did not want to make the mistake of letting someone near her when she was unable to protect herself. Although she did force you back so that shows that she does care for you, if she did not she would have left you in the eclectic current until you turned to dust."         

        "Why was her back bleeding?" Leader-Sama asked looking almost concerned before he quickly composed himself.

        "Well she was bleeding because she must have had her scars ripped open. Why though I can only think of one thing and that would be she was trying to defend herself. Konan did you throw an attack that she would not be able to dodge un?"

        "No I already told you I did not even hit her except for the spot on her cheek and I don't even know how I did that all the other times I attacked she was so fast to dodge them. In fact it was the opposite she had thrown to many kunai knifes at me to dodge so I used my origami wings to protect me."

        "YOU DID WHAT UN!? Your wings that's what caused it! She must have felt the need to let her own out or involuntarily they tried to force their way out ripping open the scars that were meant to keep them in un."

        "Also Deidara you should see the chakra patterns it puts out it is kind of weird, it must have confused her and made it hard for her to make out what they were." Itachi added         

        "What do you mean her wings, and what does that have to do with the chakra patterns mine put off?"

        "Scarlett was born with wings. The reason the chakra confuses her is because when Scarlett's wings are put away she also looses her sight, to compensate for it she is able to see the chakra everything puts off but with your wings each piece of paper puts of their own chakra therefor confusing her and making it hard for her to see."

        Everyone accept Itachi looked shocked. Scarlett shot up from behind me wrapping her arms around my waist and then her wings unfolded from her back and wrapped around us all in about five seconds. Now everyone was wide eyed and staring at her. "Scarlett it is fine they won't hurt you, you remember them don't you?" 

        "Yes i do."

        Slowly her wings folded but she did not pull them into her back. "Wow your eyes changed. that's fucken awesome." Hiden shouted causing her and I to laugh.
