Scarletts pov

My body came to alertness when it registered the burning hatred that hung in the air. Slowly I pushed my way up until I was standing on my feet. As I looked around I found no trace of Konan or the Pein look alikes. In the distance I could hear rumbles and crashes. A pain filled screech ripped through the air. That was where Pein was I just knew it, I could feel it deep in my gut. My first few steps were shaky but that was not going to stop me from getting to my beloved. With wings spread wide I was lifted into to the air so I could begin the search for Pein. In the direction of which the leaf once stood, now was a large crater surrounded by rubble. This must have been what they were talking about earlier, to have created this much destruction the amount of chakra that would have had to be used would be ginormous.

Scanning the horizon I saw another battle feild in the distance. As I got closer I began to make out two figures, these figures were not fighting, but I could see that the one on the ground was Pein.  The sudden rush of fear and saddness had me pushing to fly faster until I landed infront of Pein guarding him from the boy. "Dont you dare touch him!"

The boy scooted further back from me and then raised his hands in surrender. When I was sure he was not going to attempt to attack us, I turned my back to him and knelt next to the unconcious Pein. lightly I placed my hand on his shoulder and attempted to wake him up. "Pein... come on you have to get up, we lost this battle it is time to get up."

Continously I shook his shouder becoming more and more despirate as his cold body refused to wake. A warm hand landed on my shoulder giving it a squeeze "there is no reason to cry, you should already know that, that is not the real Pein."

Turning my head I could see the blond boy standing behind me. "What are you talking about? Who are you anyways? What are you doing here?"

"You are one of his companions arn't you? I just assumed you knew this was not the real Pein."

"I-I don't understand. He- How is that possible? He would have told my something like this? We- We love each other! Why did he not say anything? Where is he? Did you see him? Was he planning on leaving me here all alone? Did he really not love me like he said he did?" I was becoming more and more histarical every second.

Clearly uncomfortable the boy awkwardly rubbed the side of his face. "I know where he is. I could take you there if you would like me to."

With a nod of my head I stood up and followed behind him as he went jumping into the tree line. when he finally stopped it was infront of a large tree covered in paper. The boy walked forward and ripped the paper creating a hole large enough to fit through. Upon entry of the dark tree I took notice of two people, one being Konan and the other a man that I did not recognize. "So your the real Pein?" The boys words baffled me and I was almost too shocked to believe it.

"Pein is that really you?" I asked coming out from behind the boy and into the line of vision of the other two.

"Konan get her out of her, I dont want her to see me like this." the man spoke

Konan came towards me and started to usher me out of the tree but I resisted her and attempted to get back towards Pein. I did not care that he did not look how I thought he did, I still loved him and I was not going to let him suffer. Konan wrapped her arms around my waist and tried to pull on me but I refused to move an inch. Insted, I dug my heels into the ground and attempted to break her grasp on me. "SCARLETT STOP!" Pein shouted ceasing my struggles to dislodge her "Go outside now. I dont want you to come back in here at all. When this is over Konan will come and bring you back and then we can discus this."

I didn't have the strength to deny him so letting my head hang I turned and walked outside of the tree getting as far away as possible while still keeping it in sight.

...........................

Konan stepped in front of me holding a hand out to help me to my feet. "Is it over?"

"It's over Scarlett. Come on I am going to take you home it's too dangerous for you to be falling asleep in the woods like this."

"Is Pein coming with us? Where is he?"

"I already sent him home ahead of us."

...............................

I had never been to Amegakure so I was very shocked when I noticed how dreary it was here compaired to the great nations. Konan told me that this was were they grew up as children and that they were all war orphans. Konan had led me to a lake in the city that I was now watching split in half due to her paper. "We are going down there."

I gave no argument as I fallowed after her into the abyss. lightly my fingers skimed the paper wall noticing how they were dry despite the water on the other side of them. At the bottom of the paper tunnel there was a room at which we entered. On the far side of the room there he was, laying in a bed of paper flowers. Excited to see him again, I ran towards him climping into the heap of flowers. Sitting next to him I grabbed the hands of both Pein's, not positive which one I should be waking up and talking to. "His name is not really Pein." Konan said as she stood and the end of the bed.

        "What is it then?"

"The one you are used to seeing is Yahiko, he is our childhood friend. He died trying to protect us many years ago. The real Pein is Nagato."

"Nagato..." the name rolled off my tounge in a fashion that made me feel giddy inside. "look at you, your all skin and bones. First thing we are going to need to do is get you healthy again."

        "Scarlett..... Their both dead."

My heart shattered I had already known that but deep inside i just wanted to beileve it was not true. "He used Gedo: Rinne Tensei no Jutsu in order to bring back the lives of all of the Leaf villagers that were killed in the attack. By doing this he lost his own life." Konan spoke softly

"What a noble way to die. He was so brave." I gave her a small smile then let go of both boys hands and pulled her into a hug. "What would you do if they were still here?"

"We would probably still be trying to find a way to bring peace. Maybe we would even be helping Naruto. I wish that we could just run away and live happily together like whe we first started out."

"Then go do it Konan. Leave all of this Ninja nonsense behind and go find your peace, dont ever look back again."

"I would never leave you three behind."

"Then don't take them with you. I will stay here and make sure everything becomes peaceful and when it does I will go looking for you and then we can live here again, in the place you all grew up."

"That's just wishful thinking. Nothing will ever be the way it was before."

"Yeah I guess you are right." we sat in silence for a whill, just thinking of happier thoughts. "Konan would you mind getting me something to drink."

Konan nodded and stood up walking out of the room we were in. I laid my one hand on each of the boys chests right above their hearts. "Nagato... Yahiko... I want you both to be happy. I love you very much Nagato and therefor I want to give you a second chance. You have to take care of Konan though, she wants to live in peace so you boys better make sure you give up all this fighting. Go find a beautiful waterfall to live by and build a house so you may all live a happily ever after."

My hands began to glow a bright white and my chakra sorrounded them. Life slowly came back to their bodies as it left mine. I could only give them the opportunity to live, whether or not their souls took that opportuinty was up to them. I had no choice in that. Their eyes began to flutter open so I stopped the flow of chakra feeling completly drained. The glass dropped out of Konan's hand as she saw the two beside me. I gave her a smile and spoke my final words "Go find your peace and be happy."

My body fell limp into the soft cushion of flowers and then the light slowly left my eyes "I'll let you know when peace has finally settled here."
