Chapter Six

-Lake Norman Dock-

Nichole's POV:

The jet ski motor roared loudly as the thin yellow rope whipped us into high speed. Savannah and I held on with all of our strength as each curve snapped us even harder and faster than the last. Jack started to veer into a figure eight and I could see the after-waves quickly approaching us, crap! Savannah turned her head slightly looking at me with wide eyes, we both knew what was going to happen.

The inter tube hit the lip of the white wash, as we flipped in the air my arms became numb and my my grip loosened. My body crashed into the warm lake water, splashing my face and lightly dampening my wavy hair.

"Haha well that was fun." Savannah sarcastically remarked. "I just got the wind knocked out of me."

"I think I got a rope burn on my shin." I added, trying to bring my leg closer to my face so I could get a better look but I couldn't, the water was too murky. I rested my exhausted body by not swimming and letting the life vest carry my weight.

Jack kept circling the lake, I guess he still hadn't noticed we fell off. We didn't have a spotter which was pretty stupid of us.

"JACK!!!!!" We yelled in sync.

In the distance, Jack's small head turned around looking back in our direction and he began to make a U-turn to come back and get us. The noise of the loud motor increased as he approached us.

"Haha, when did you guys fall of?" He curiously asked, cutting the motor.

"When you decided to do a figure eight." Savannah replied rudely.

"Haha oh I'm sorry, are you okay?" Jack asked sarcastically. Savannah shook her head in slight frustration.

"Can we please head back to the dock? I think we need a little break." I added lightly tugging on the yellow rope to pull the inter tube closer to us.

"Sure." Jack replied, nodding his head slowly. Savannah and I climbed back onto the inter tube and got situated with our hand placement on the black straps.

Brody's POV:

"So I never got the chance to ask you, is Nichole seeing anyone?" Nash asked me, looking up from his fidgety thumbs.

"Why do care? You have Brooke." I replied, ruder than what I wanted.

"I know that I am still dating Brooke, but I have been thinking a lot lately and I'm considering breaking it off with her soon." He paused, thinking of what he needed to say next.

"I have been hearing a lot of rumors recently about her hooking up with some guys at parties and I haven't been able to confront her about it because I have been away from home for so long." Nash finally chocked out. I could tell a big part of him didn't want to believe the rumors, but deep down he knew they were probably true.

"Did you at least try skypeing her, when you were away on tour?" I asked, opening up the cold glass bottle of lemonade.

"I did but she rarely accepted my calls. I know I was gone for almost a month and that takes a big tole on a relationship, but I was hoping that she would want to make this thing last." Nash replied, running his pale fingers through his hair.

"Do you love her?" I asked, eager to hear his answer.

"I thought I did, but I'm pretty sure I don't anymore." Nash replied with slight confidence and in the corner of my eye, I saw Savannah and Nikki flip off the inter tube.
